Oh Lord, we've got Badaass McSeaHAWKeR up in here who never misses or has lower accuracy under duress or in the heat of the moment. Move over, John McClane.

So that becomes the law, then? What someone arbitrarily decides they do or do not need? I'm a damn crack shot with a six shooter, so that's all y'alls needs to have. Any more than that and you're just beggin' to shoot up the neighborhood.

Well, with a 12 gauge it isn't that inconceivable to "put lead" as he called it into 6 assailants with 6 shells. However, said lead may only be a pellet or two and not that effective at actually stopping them unless they are a whiny bitch when it comes to minor wounds like say, a paper cut. But, if the 6 shots were slugs, then no, in the heat of the moment you would not hit all 6, not going to happen.

Didn't you read what he typed? He's an awesome mo-fo that never misses at close range.

Dude, if you could miss at close range with a Mossberg, my hat would be off to you. My blind father (when he was alive) could hit you with that gun. It doesn't take any skill to hit something with that gun. This is bragging, how exactly?

Six guys on my porch with buckshot, particularly tweakers (most likely reason six guys are trying to rob me) and they would run like bitches.

Personally I could give a shit about magazine size. As I've said before I find concealable handguns to be more offensive and worrisome than assault rifles. I am in no way advocating for the law, just saying a pistol grip Mossberg is a very nice home defense weapon.

Depends on how high (and on what) they are at the time. They might take a gut shot and keep coming. Ask any cop...

Yeah OK, Roland, I guess I'll go out and buy a Kalashnikov with an extended magazine (and find some armor piercing rounds) for the next time a small army invades my home. Never know they might be high on kevlar pills that make them bulletproof so I guess I better get a flamethrower too, just in case...

I know that's what you think. If you were right, I'd be concerned. :) Also, lol @ judging the level of smack. I didn't realize you were still in high school. Human beings insult others from the day they can hold conversations until the day they can't, but trying to turn how good or bad the smack is into a beauty pageant is reserved exclusively for the juvenile part of one's life. Mentally juvenile, that is; some people never outgrow it. :)

Shotguns don't spread the pellets out like you would think. You still need to aim, especially if you are using buckshot. Not sure why you would use buckshot on an intruder, though. #6 bird shot would be far more effective.

Dude in SoCal yesterday used a host of guns to kill a bunch of innocent people, and supposedly was mentally stable. I guess getting or using any kind of gun is easy no matter what law you abide by or break, so all of this is moot.

Going out and killing a bunch of people does not make one mentally stable...

Yeah, I would have figured that such an action would be decidedly unstable.

I've fired the weapon extensively (usually at old computer equipment). Yes you have to aim, but general direction is good enough, and I'd be willing to lay a fat stack of cash (if I had it and there were any way to prove it) that I have a cooler head than 99% of the clowns here (and I am 1100% sincere on that, absolutely confident). It's a gift, always has been. Proved it to myself time and time again.

The funniest one I can think of, is I got stuck in an elevator with a bunch of other workers renovating an old building in Tacoma (the "Perkins" building downtown). It's only 8 stories but of course we got stuck halfway to the 8th floor landing. Inside the elevator, my three co-workers panicked, I was the only one whop wasn't rattled. Took like 5 minutes to get out, but had it been 15, I can almost bet one of the other 4 in the elevator at least would have ended up wetting themselves, the panic was that thick. This is something that has happened time and time again, when under pressure, those around me crack, but I maintain.

Now, give me a situation where I have lots of time to think about how bad it is, something upcoming but looming in the future and I can obsess and panic with the best of them, maybe be more of a bitch about it than most, but when sudden crisis comes, I've got ice water in my veins, and always have.

As to the comment about my dad; he was retired Navy, 100% service connected disabled (blinded), and if you took a bet he couldn't hit you from across the yard with the Mossberg, perhaps quicker and more accurately than I could, you'd go out bleeding or dead. Was uncanny how that guy could hear. He used to target shoot with a cowbell on a string and he could handle a gun. Unless you were a master of silence, at close range, with a gun in that guy's hand, and intruder would have had no chance if he didn't get the drop on him. When I used to spot for him, he would make BANK betting on shuffleboard at the tavern. I miss the guy...

I feel, that as long as my choice of home defense doesn't blow up the houses next to me, it's no ones business how I go about it.

So if I want to defend my home with a .45, AR-15, Shotgun or a freaking shaped charged. So be it. Whatever happened to individual liberties?

I see this latest round of gun control measures as a step by step measure. Where each step is a bit more drastic then the previous. First NY comes down harder with new gun control laws, then not to be outdone California introduces harsher laws then NY... And now Washington is introducing legislation that is in clear violation of the 4th Amendment and seriously stomping on the 2nd.

Kind of off topic, here in Spokane if my house is robbed the authorities will tell me to file a police report online and they will get to it. Yet our legislators in Olympia want to increase law enforcements work load by having once a year in home inspections just because you own a registered firearm.

But, was he a responsible gun owner?

I think by definition of "responsible gun owner" we can go ahead and give him a big 'ol no.

Well he is "responsible" for killing those people...at least he should be found as such and punished justly
