It's gettin real gay over in DC. Quote: Dozens of prominent Republicans — including top advisers to former President George W. Bush, four former governors and two members of Congress — have signed a legal brief arguing that gay people have a constitutional right to marry, a position that amounts to a direct challenge to Speaker John A. Boehner and reflects the civil war in the party since the November election. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/26/us/po ... l?hp&_r=2&

I should have known the Republicans would go cheap on an issue like this

Good for them, if they want to have even a snowballs chance in hell of surviving as a party they need to evolve with the rest of society.

I think there are plenty of moderate, unreligious (or at least don't include their religion in their policy) republicans who care more about fiscal policy then they do social issues. The unfortunate thing for the R's is that they have been the silent portion.

The unfortunate thing for the R's is that they have been the silent portion. Unfortunately, there are quite a few Republicans who are pretty radical and reactionary about fiscal policy, too.

As Pehawk has said many times, if the Republican party were actually true to their 'keep Government out of the home' values, they would have supported gay marriage from the outset.

I am glad to see this. I can give a shit less what sex of human a person marries. I wish the politicians would gtfo of peoples houses. What I do in my home, as long as it doesn't hurt someone is my own fucking business.
Besides, the bible I read says "Judge not, lest thee be judged."
Issues like this are nothing but distractions that the parties use to keep the electorate from focusing on real issues like jobs and such.

Wow maybe there is some hope for the republican party after all. Of course by the time the republicans all jump on board with gay marriage, the issue will have been replaced with animal and inanimate object marriage which of course they will all be opposed to.
