Pete caused the Adams fiasco from the start

They definitely both deserve blame. PC's "just one player away" to fix the increasingly terrible defense. JS's inability to get fair trade value (San Francisco probably would have gotten Adams for a third rounder under the same circumstances). Both of them collectively putting the team in a...

Pete caused the Adams fiasco from the start

Nope. Hamilton is in the third year of a four-year contract. It'd be terrible roster-building strategy to transform two first round talents/contracts for one (soon to be) high-priced safety. I sincerely hope that Macdonald values first round draft picks more than JS/PC did.

Pete caused the Adams fiasco from the start

This is what I was going to say. The biggest problem was the trade compensation itself. They had to pay him a fortune because they invested two first rounders. He had all the leverage. But if they did all that AND there was disagreement on how to use him, that makes the story even worse. Of...

    Frustrating Former Seahawks

That Miami game was the first time I watched them and made me a fan for life. Was that Denver game the one where tbe Denver kicker hit the upright at the end of the game to lose? It was an epic back-and-forth. That was an early 2010’s Seattle-SF type matchup.

    Frustrating Former Seahawks

Reminds me of Nate Odomes. He was our first big free agency signing when modern free agency started up in 1993. Then he hurt his knee in a charity basketball game and never played a down for us.

    Frustrating Former Seahawks

They both became starters for their respective AFC West teams in the 1983 season. I actually remember a comparison segment by Inside the NFL (who has the better young QB?) He's actually my favorite Seahawks QB ever. Nothing hits quite like things do when you're a kid.

Daryl Turner. A true weapon and the perfect complement to Largent, but he threw it all away and was out of the league in a flash.

    Steve Hutchinson?

I mean they're already in a special place in sports hell. They lost the SB four times in the 70's and then even though they've built several championship worthy teams in the subsequent decades, they never even went back.

    Steve Hutchinson?

That's what I never understood about this whole thing. Hutchinson was free to negotiate whatever deal he could, and Seattle could match it. A player of his caliber could really drive up his price that way. Was getting the transition tag instead of the franchise tag that much of a diss to go...

    Steve Hutchinson?

Yes, it was definitely Ruskell's fault (a terrible GM), but the poison pill was also terrible form on Minnesota's part that prevented Seattle from following through on the transition tag as intended. It was ultimately outlawed in 2011 when the new CBA was ratified.

    Steve Hutchinson?

I'm glad that Hutchinson is around now...but yeah, that poison pill was way outside the spirit of the transition tag. The NFL should have intervened.

Do you believe this about Russell Wilson?

Yep, many things can be true at the same time. For example, Wilson had far more success than many/most of the celebrated first round QBs over the last several years will ever have. But there was just a shelf life on that style of play. Fortunately this was a case where we sold a year early...

Do we have a playoff roster?

Agreed. If we make the playoffs after rolling out entirely new offensive and defensive systems, that's huge progress regarding team life cycle. The coaches and player personnel staffs can then build on that success in year #2. Man, this year is going to be fun and frustrating in a way it hasn't...

Do we have a playoff roster?

Agreed. You can't entirely separate position group evaluation from coaching/scheme this way. There is talent all over this roster, but it has been sub-optimized with stale coaching/schemes for years. You see it all the time in this league where a "grade A" free agent leaves one team and never...

    DK rumor's

If they did something like this, I’d have to think it’d be to accumulate draft capital to move up for a QB next draft. Whether it’s DK or anybody else, you’d have to get back a first to make this work. But this rumor is just an internet idea I think.
