I bashed 19 on NFL.com after 2 weeks, but 4? I mean i love to see our Hawks in the top 5 again, but the jump from 10 to 4 on ESPN... i figured last week, somewhere around 12 seemed right, this week top 10 would be accurate.

But the 4th best in the league? Maybe if we are healthy and hunming on all cylinders.

But, there you have it.

If nothing else, its nice to screenshot after the last several years of mediocrity ... 2019 and 2020 (partially) not withstanding.

I have a bigger issue with the Chiefs being at #1. Granted, history says that one can hardly overrate them. Things are starting to shape up a little, but history shows that defenses tend to dominate early in the season, with offenses shaping up before the mid-point. (Which, incidentally, is good for the Hawks)

#1 Buffalo - they have looked far more impressive than the Chiefs
#2 Minnesota - Same
#3 Chiefs - At some point, history has to count for something.
#4 Detroit - IKR, record &all that. They have looked more complete than Hawks
#5 Houston - Same as Lions, though I could easily put Hawks here
#6 Seattle - MNF will vault them or drop them
#7 Philly - Probably should be lower, and I bet they fall off
#8 Pittsburgh - I'm not sold on them yet
#9 Green Bay
#10 New Orleans
#11 Tampa Bay
#12 NY Jets
#13 Commanders
#14 San Francisco - If McCaffery and Kittle come back soon, they will move up
# 15 LA Chargers

Until someone knocks off the Chiefs, they're the team to beat. Regular season is what it is. They flip that switch when it matters.

I thought Atlanta and Raheem Morris failed by not electing to kick the field goal instead of going for it all on fourth down. They whiffed. Turned over on downs. Then, remarkably got the ball back and again went for it on fourth down and whiffed again. Ball game.

If they had decided to do the field goal that first time, and made it with Koo, all they would have had to do the second time around was kick the game winning field goal at a short distance (mind you) but Morris was pretty awful during that 6 mins stretch.

Atlanta deserved to lose and the Chiefs deserved to win cause at least the Chiefs knew when to go for it…

We complain when we're too low, now we complain we're too high. They're just power rankings. They mean nothing. They are useless. Worthless. Indicative of nothing.

4 is kinda funny, top 10 based on how the season started sure. Seahawks are a full offseason away of OL improvement, specifically guards, before I'd put them solidly in the top ~10 though. Connor Williams played better this week and I'm sure is still dealing with some lingering stuff from his injury but I just cannot trust them in meaningful games against elite teams when they struggle this much.

When Geno gets even an average pocket, this offense is easily top 8 in the league. Problem is - so much of what Grubb wants to do gets thrown out because the guards cannot maintain blocks, I mean this is just ridiculous:

Anthony Bradford should be a depth guy next year. Tomlinson, I dunno what is going on because he at one time was pretty good. But until they can dump some money and picks into this group, I don't see them making a meaningful offseason push. Absolutely no issue taking a top guard in R1 next year. Geno is playing tremendous football, the skill players are elite, K9 and Charbs are a terrific backfield. It's time to do what the Lions and Browns have done and get some elite beef up front.

Incredibly impressed by what MM and company have done in their brief tenure though. Having an absolute blast watching this defense come together. Keep rocking the power rankings boys.

Not true my friend.

They do mean something after all, even if it’s simply to validate or discount our own beliefs.

Confirmation bias matters in today’s world.

4? Not currently in my book. Top 10? Sure. We have the #1 ranked defense if I'm not mistaken but with injuries and the OL situation, that keeps me from saying anything higher than 6 or 7 at the moment.

What kind of physical outcome does validating our beliefs produce?
