So the thread about best ever names of football players made me think a thread about the best nicknames might be fun.

If this has been done before, I apologize in advance as being an old guy and all I've forgotten if it has.
I'll start with some of my favorites.....

Daryl Lamonica (former Raiders QB) - The Mad Bomber
Gale Sayers (if you don't know, you damned well should) - The Kansas Comet
Marshawn Lynch - Beast Mode
Elroy Hirsch (Rams WR in the 50s) - Crazy Legs
Norm Van Brocklin (Rams & Eagles QB in the 50s) - The Flying Dutchman
Ted Hendricks (Raiders LB in the 70s) - The Mad Stork*

*Possibly my all-time favorite

Exactly. Do you not het that he's a Whiner fan. If Sac were a mod, he'd get the ban hammer for that blasphemy.

Great call on "Galloping Ghost" JSeahawks!

When I was a kid I always enjoyed hearing William "The Fridge" Perry. And the "Nigerian Nightmare" Christian Okoye. But when "the Boz" came out that was my favorite being a Seahawks fan. Also rocked the Boz haircut. Kids at school called me Boz for little while. Gay, I know.

Sweetness! That was another great one that came to mind. Really fitted Walter Payton's game.
