I could see spending our late 4th round pick (4 (35), #137 overall) on Martinez. We could do worse.
Even though he weighed 217 at the Combine (likely to improve his 40 time), and 225 on his Pro Day, his playing weight is more like 230 lb. by the sound of it... and from the look of it, he carries it well.
He can be a load to bring down once he gets to the 3rd level. Question is... how often will he get to the 3rd level in the NFL??? Answer: not often enough.
He runs a bit too vertical for a 230-pounder. It would be nice to see more forward lean on every attempt. He does have some nice feet in traffic... and shows patience for his lane to open. Just not sure he'd be a good fit for an outside zone-blocking scheme.
If we draft him, he'd be competition for George Holani for the backup role.
