Here's another fun Seahawk draft history thread -- one that could be more challenging to answer:

Which players have Seahawks drafted that everyone just KNEW was going to kick ass in the pros playing for Seattle, and he 100% lived up to expectations?

True that there are never any guarantees that a drafted player will succeed in the pros, and it does seem like players with big expectations coming up short seem to outnumber low- or uncertain-expectations players who excel, but has anyone in years past been massively hyped, got drafted by Seattle, and became a perennial Pro Bowler?

Steve Hutchinson. Really only fell to us because of positional value, but it was basically unanimous that he would be great.

Given that we took them in the top 5, i would assume Tez and Easley too, but those were before my time.

I barely remember the Big Walt draft. I think he was considered a very safe selection. We were fortunate he was overshadowed a bit by Orlando Pace.

Yeah, Big Walt for me. But that's too easy. The late round pick I felt good about that turned out to be was Kam Chancellor. I thought he'd be a starter, but I didn't think he'd turn into The Deathbacker.
Yeah I loved Kam Chancellor at Virginia Tech and I don't even watch college football, but since he was a 5th round pick I don't think he's included in the EVERYONE KNEW he would be good category

I had never heard of him before we drafted him. But after watching highlights, I had some very unexpected high hopes for the kid. Worked out well.

The best answer for the question is Cortez Kennedy. I didn't follow Easley in college but from what I have heard, he is right there.

I started watching the Hawks in 1986 and the first answer that comes to mind is Cortez Kennedy. I already knew he was going to be great and then he only cemented it when at his press conference he said something to the effect, "guys out there are going to try and hurt you. I've always felt that you have to hurt them first" or something like that. I was so stoked he was a Seahawk.

Honorable mention:
Shawn Springs
Joey Galloway
Walter Jones
Hutch
Alexander
Earl
Russell (pains me to say it, but I knew)

Curt Warner and Shaun Alexander.

If Curt didn't have to play on the crappy Kingdome turf he'd be in Canton.

Shaun was dominant until ... well .... he wasn't. I still will always love and defend him.
