The injury report should be out shortly and I’ll update the thread when it is, but for now some injury news from Coach today.

Being a short week, today’s practice is just a walk through but Macdonald said he believes that Nwosu, Williamsand Mafe would all be participating. He also seemed to think that Live is doing ok so that’s good news as well.

Also Mentioned was that Cam Young who was on PUP is expected to open his practice window this week.

Possibly some good news there. I see Nabers isn't likely to play for the Giants.

Wonder if we should be worried about Lucas not being activated off IR and starting the ramp ups over the next few weeks.

I believe Lucas is PUP and won't be available for another week or so.

Today was just a walk through so the report is a coaches estimation of how much or little players would have practiced. We should get a better idea tomorrow and Friday will give us the most information.

Last year, the words "chronic" and "degenerative" slipped into the conversation about Lucas's knee, but we got no actual report of any kind of diagnosis or prognosis. Unless and until I hear something concrete and positive about Lucas from the Seahawks, I'm just assuming we won't see him playing again.

For whatever it's worth, on Earth Wind and Fire Night (the 21st night of September), Brady Henderson said this on ESPN when George Fant was put on IR:

Fant had been starting in place of Abe Lucas, who remains on the physically unable to perform list after offseason knee surgery. He's eligible to return as early as Week 5, but Seattle has been preparing to be without Lucas until at least midseason.

Saw this discussed last night. Do you play the guys coming back even if they aren't 100% in the hope there's a get right game against a poor Giants offense or let them heal another weak, hope you squeak out a win but also risking a colt mccoy type game against the Giants and have them ready for the 49ers on a short week?

I kind of think you need to try wrack up the wins to be honest unless someones 50/50 to play then maybe don't.

It's a tough decision for sure. If someone is iffy or on the brink, I think they should hold them out until they play Santa Clara.
Not assuming they beat any team, but they can knock off the vagiants with some guys out.

I wouldn't want them to risk bringing someone back too soon and end up losing them for the season, but whatever decisions are made, I hope "the Giants suck" doesnt factor into anything. That defense we trotted out on Monday night didnt look capable of stopping anyone without our DL starters. I'm not taking anything for granted on a short week against a desperate team.

O.k., here is my take on the injuries. It's not the training staff's fault, as far as I know (which isn't much).

If you watch the other teams, they take cheap shot, after cheap shot on the Seahawks star players. It is down right disgusting. NFL is a big boy sport, so these things happen. I get it, but if you watch the Seahawks, the are so careful not to break any tackling rules, it's almost two hand touch out there.

If the other teams are taking cheap shots on the Seahawks, and the Seahawks are practicing safety precautions on tackling, it will continue to go against the Seahawks favor.

Thursday update looks a bit better. The only one to miss practice due to an injury was Murphy and since he’s expected to miss this week that’s no surprise. Everyone else at least practiced in some capacity today.

Good to see Love and Bradford out there. Hopefully the recovery day goes well and they're ready for Sunday.

Does anyone know if Hankins absence is his wife gave birth? I have been watching his Youtube videos and have gotten fond of both him and his wife. If so, that is awesome and congratulations are in order.

After getting at least 1 of our big guys back, Baker is next dude I want to see playing. We take a hit when the 2nd stringers fill in for either he or Dodson.

Out of everything you said, all I can now here in my gnarled brain is "September" by the mighty EW&F.
