This is silly, I admit. I ask your indulgence...

...I was just thinking about Monday night's game. I realize it's a prime-time game, but I was not excited to miss the Hawks on Sunday. I wasn't sure exactly why I felt that way at first, so after some thought, here are the reasons I prefer watching the Hawks play during the Sunday 1pm-1:30pm games:

1. Monday, and often late into the evening is a work-day for me. I miss some of the game.
2. Sunday is a day off, and watching the Hawks play while other games are going on can be a healthy distraction if we are losing badly.
3. I'm more productive in the mornings on Sunday, and after lunch is a perfect time to relax, eat with family, and watch without stress
4. Thursday nights are worse than Mondays for work and business.
5. Getting the Hawks results at the same time as other games allows me to make more sense out of the league and our division. This is a minor reason.

Anyone else care to share on this?

Well, I too, missed having the 'Hawks on today. Watching a variety of other games is fine, but having a day dedicated to Seahawks football with other football 'surrounding it' is my preference.

However, there are some benefits to the primetime games for me. I don't have a regular work schedule, so I'm just as likely to work on a Sunday as I am a Monday or Thursday. And being on the East Coast, 8 PM games have higher odds that if I *do* have to work, I'll still likely be done by the time the game starts (or at least shortly thereafter), so I'll still get to watch a majority of the game.

If they start at 1 or 4 on a day I'm working, I'm probably gonna miss just about all of it.

So, yeah, I prefer Sunday in the afternoon spot (I get to scope around the league at some other games before settling into the Seahawks game), but there are some pluses for me for late games as well. (For example, I am working on the 10th, but I'll most likely get to watch most of the Niners game because of the time.)

That's where I'm at, too. Thanks for the reply!

Looks like those voting prefer Sundays, and more in the afternoon. Hmmm...

I selected "other". Thursday Night, Monday Night, Sunday nights are the worst because you're waiting all day. My absolute favorite is when they play over seas and the game starts at like 6 or 7am MDT. Wake-up and Hawks football before you can even be fully awake enough to get annoyed with the game. 🤣

It depends on whether I'm going to the game. Sunday night is my favorite for attending games. There's something magical about a late game in Seattle.

For watching, I like Monday night best because of Troy and Buck and the hype leading into the game. Let's face it. It's a rare day to hear ESPN talk about the Seahawks, so it's interesting to get the team's pulse in a broader, national sense.

This for me. We've only ever been go like 5 games - but the night games that we were at were 'magical'. I like the lights. Maybe I'm a seagull :)

For watching, Sunday afternoon 'hands down'. I don't care for any other time slot. This way, I get the full RedZone in the morning, get pumped for the game, and then put our game on and PIP in the redzone to keep an eye on the sleepy RedZone afternoon schedule.

And I've pretty much stopped watching all TNF, SNF and MNF. Got sick of Collinsworth a year or two ago after Al left, and the others aren't on the weekend - so usually other shit to do. The only real exception is if there is a GOOD set of opponents in a night game, and then I might catch the first half.

I first wanted to say Sunday afternoons but if I am being honest, it's the excitement of the cap of the day which has the nation's complete attention...The bright lights, great production...It's gotta be SNF for me.

3. ... and watch without stress
That's not possible! Probably the only Seahawks game I have ever watched without stress was the second half of SB XLVIII, and even that only after the kickoff return that started the second half.

<edit> - too many Xs

I should have clarified; lack of stress from all the other life-obligations/work/yard, etc.

You're right. The Hawks are stress-inducing, even in some of our best wins.

SNF is my favorite. But, for me, that's truly Sunday NIGHT as I'm in NY state.

If I am attending a game live. Sunday Afternoon. It's usually warmer out, I can make a day of it and I get home in time to get things ready for the work week.

If I am watching the game on TV with friends, same as above.

If I am watching the game on TV at home solo or with kids. Then Sunday evening. I still have the day to myself to prep for work or do errands.

I really do NOT like MNF and TNF other than a mid week game to watch. They are absolutely THE WORST when it comes to attending live. Need to leave work early, traffic sucks, parking sucks (and even more expensive than Sunday), it's a late night and then you have work the following morning.

I live in Alaska, Thursday & Monday night games are at halftime by the time I get home. I need some beauty sleep (more than I’m willing to admit) after staying at the bar on Saturday nights, So Sunday morning aren’t ideal. By Sunday evening I’m already starting to prepare for another dreaded work week. Sunday afternoons is best for me!

I'll go...

1) Sunday night
2) Sunday afternoon
3) Monday night
4) Sunday morning
5) Thursday night

It could change a bit based upon the competition and the import of the game.

What makes Sunday morning lower for you, NG? Do you sleep in on Sundays or in a different time zone?

I don't know. It's probably because I like to sit in my bed on Sunday morning and do the NYT's crossword puzzle and others with my partner and a warm cup of coffee before I have to get serious about an east coast game before I've fully woken up on that particular day. I have my rituals.

I live in UK and voted "Sun am" although it is early evening for me. the "afternoon" games are OK but finish after midnight. The "prime time" games I have to sleep through and watch on catch up.
