I don't understand why Garver is still getting ABs as the DH...

It's The Mariners Way, to have a Designated Hitter (designated to bat in place of the pitchers) who bats worse than the pitchers. I don't know how we possibly lost our way so badly after having the best DH in MLB history, who the DH award is named for. You would think that someone who is ONLY there to bat would be hired on the basis of being pretty good at the plate, but once again that's not The Mariners Way. Anymore, at least.

It's so hard to watch, and there were so many options at DH this off season.

This is a huge negative in the batting order right now.

In the current M's world DH means designated non-hitter. M's in the 90s and early 2000s had the best DH in baseball.

Nobody could ever convince me that someone from AAA wouldn't be a better option than Garver.
That all being said, this morning on 710 they reported that the guy is getting death threats and/or being told to kill himself. Absolutely unacceptable bs.

And that, is the absolute and justifiable reason to not have a social media footprint if you are in the public eye.

East coast fans: "so what, he sucks we aren't being literal, get over it."
West Coast (especially Mariner fans): "someone said what?!? Omg this is absolutely unacceptable I can't believe this we are so sorry Mitch hope Scotty gives you more at-bats".

True, but it doesn't make it acceptable in any way. People are angry losers who do this crap. No way in hell they would say it to him in person.
Absolutely. While I think the guy is underperforming but in no way should he or his family should be subjected to this stuff. Unacceptable.

I would happily accept all that hate if I could make millions swinging at a baseball. Currently I have to pay for online gaming to get that kind of attention

Completely unacceptable. They should be telling Servais to kill himself.

So you think making deaths threats to an underperforming player makes you a tough hardcore real fan?
What a pathetic take.
Maybe with that logic death threats could make you a better poster to this forum… but reality is you would contact the moderator and police and demand action be taken.

By all means be mad and disrespectful to a player who doesn’t live up to your expectations, your opinion will have zero effect on the player. Cross the line and start lobbing death threats and hopefully the legal system will give you what you deserve.

I never said that making death threats is ok. Please provide evidence of your claim that would hold up in a court of law. We're waiting. If you cannot provide this evidence I will have to report you to the mods, as well as the others who liked the comment because it's enabling and promoting libel.
