-- I would not be shocked if he goes before Sanders. I know we might have a riot on here, but I wouldn't have a problem with us taking him. I believe that Darnold is just a younger Geno, and I never thought Geno was a game changer. Could you win a Super Bowl with Geno or Darnold, yes. But everthing else would have to be perfect, which is hard to do.

-- If the team believes Dart can become a great QB, then go for it.

I wouldn't want him before the fifth round. If anyone wastes a first rounder on him, they'll be drafting another QB high in 2-3 years.

We have too many other positions to fill than QB. If Darnold woks out, great. If he is still Jets/Panthers Darnold then we worry about it next year.

We need OG, C, T, WR, TE, FB, NT, MLB, S and CB. Some as depth, some to upgrade what we currently have. I'm fine passing on QB this year

Every year a QB rises up the boards last minute. I'm to the point where I expect Dart to go 1st round. Even if some say he's 2nd or 3rd round material.

Last year, all I heard was that Penix was 2nd or 3rd round, and there was "no way" he goes in the first round. Plus, he somehow was 29 when he got drafted. hahahahaha

I kid

Yeah, a first round QB doesn't make much sense to me. From what I've read it's not a great QB class, so if we want one I would think we'd wait until Day 3.

People laughed when I said Penix would go first round. Not saying Dart will, he's not near the QB that Penix was. But.........I still think he sneaks in to the late 1st round. Just a guess.

I can't imagine a scenario where they could have ever won a sb with Geno. Time will tell with Darnold, and he has a season to prove himself or he'll likely be gone or riding the bench as a backup. Taking Dart could be a nice insurance policy, but I would still prefer they go all in on a top shelf qb candidate, whomever and whenever that is. Even when they lucked out with Russ in the 3rd round, he had his shortcomings, no pun or disrespect intended. Trying to turn lead or bronze into gold bars just doesn't seem like a long term winning strategy to me. Starting with gold and refining it, does. In my opinion, the front office needs to steel their resolve and go all in at some point. I've never seen them do that. They always play it safe. Of course, it's easy for me to say that, since my job isn't on the line. I get it. But when the object is to separate yourself from 31 other teams and be the very best and win an owl, playing it safe isn't a winning strategy. No risk, no reward.

If you allow your opinion to be formed by what you read in media outlet stories I don't give your opinion any credit at all. Pay attention to opinions from former successful QBs and by what you see on film. I really like Dart, knowing that in a bad situation he could be a failure, just like Mr. All World for the Bears last year. There is a possibility the same thing could happen to Ward at Tenn this year.
If you are very high on Sanders watch the Colorado game vs Kansas last year. He even had Hunter to work with and still got absolutely handled by a team that had struggled mightily all season long, but ended up taking down 3 highly rated teams in a row before returning to previous form.
The notion that this is a "weak" QB class started with one post in the media. That post was echoed by another, then reposted by several others and so on until it became an opinion trend.
Watch the film on each of these guys before you adopt an attitude. If you haven't played the position talk and listen to someone who has and has studied each of the guys in this class. All of a sudden you will hear opinions that there are several guys in this class with the ability to shine.

I'm trying to understand how fans of a QB are so ready to blame the
team that drafts him if he fails.
To me it's up to the QB to show "he has it or he don't" and to do the
things necessary to improve yourself for the next level.
You are supposed to be a pro; It's not high school or college anymore.
