Sounds like Kurt agrees with what many of us have been saying. We can't know if you're elite until you show us. He's 35 if it hasn't happened by now it's not happening. For the pro Geno crowd he even threw something in for you by saying he's a really good QB. We should all be happy! :)

Kurt took the easy road. First of all he said Seattle’s offense is one that does a lot downfield and you need a good qb to do that, as if GeNo isn’t that? But really, Seattle doesn’t have an offense that we’ve seen yet so if he’s talking about the past then yeah, but so, why you gotta bring up old shyt…. Kurt. But Geno’s good…. Whole lotta nothin we don’t know already

Even the elite arent elite when they dont have reliable protection (ask Patty Mahomes and Jared Goff), to say nothing for what competent playcalling and coaching can do (ask Sam Darnold... and Jared Goff).

But sure, keep on beating the dead horse, defining Geno by what he's done with a turnstile of coordinators, no run game, and no protection.

Its funny how when Kurt blasted Russ for not being able to do basic NFL QB stuff and saying squarely that Seattle would never win anything meaningful again until Russ played better (ie - Russ was the limiting factor), he was labeled being lazy and 'hating'. Now, his words are gospel...

Ha.

Kurt Warner answered those questions a lot like a politician would. He used a lot of words to say nothing and avoid answering the questions directly. I was hoping to see some actual football tape breakdowns.

What's crazy is we're beating the Geno horse to death and this isn't even the offseason where there's a decision being made about keeping him vs moving on. That's next year!

You take this stuff so personal with Geno and I don't get it. Geno has had 14 years to prove he's elite and hasn't yet but we're beating a dead horse? Alright man you win, I'm sure when they fill all the pieces and Geno is 37 we're gonna see Pat Mahomes numbers! I feel it!

And its weird you took my post the way you did. It was light hearted and said Kurt makes both camps happy and you had a massive problem with it that you posted what you did. Makes sense.

I actually can't stand his takes on current players and think he's terrible which is why I tried to insert a joke about how we can all be happy but some people took it personal and a knock on their hero. I will refrain from adding a little levity to the discussion as that's not even possible anymore people are so emotionally invested in this stuff apparently.

When Warner talks, he sounds like someone who had three times as many concussions as he did. Nothing he said in this segment is wrong though, or should even be considered all that controversial. Nearly all the talk about the team's ceiling with Geno is based on hypotheticals of what can be improved around him. All we can do is try to make those improvements and then wait and see if it's enough. The situation will never be perfect for Geno, so the question will be if he can be good to elevate the team above them when they inevitably arrive.

I don't think anyone has ever said Geno is elite. There is no argument on whether or not he is. He's not. He's above average that will at times make some bad mistakes trying to do too much. That's better than a little more than half of the QB's in the league, but not elite. You don't need elite, which is good because finding elite is damn hard. Elite has already been found for at least the next 5 years (Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, LamJack) You can win without elite. Geno's window is much much smaller than most but you can still win with that. Hurts just did. Hurts is a better runner than Geno but he makes just as many mistakes throwing the ball than Geno does. Early last season Philly fans were calling for the coach to be fired. The year before Philly fans wanted Hurts gone because he throws too many crucial INT's. Now he just won the Super Bowl. What changed? An elite RB and much better playcalling.

So how did they make the SB in 2022? You're going to tell me Miles Sanders was an elite RB?

Hope it doesnt hurt too badly when Geno flourishes in a real NFL offense and behind a competent NFL O-line and running backs who actually contribute to the success of the offense.
You know I am for sure one that has been ready for a new qb from the moment GeMaybe has been our Qb, but in the last few years I have seen enough positive from Geno to be intrigued about what might be with a great system

You completely missed the point. Hurts had a great year in 2022. But has not had the same type of year since. 2023 he was awful. 2024 he was better but he had an elite RB, plus the defense to compliment that. 2022 for him was a career year. A really bad season in 2023. In 2024 statistically was better again but he also had the best RB in football behind him.

Back to the point, Hurts isn't elite and still won. You don't need elite to win it all. Elite is rarely available.
