What is it about these athletes that love to drive recklessly and endanger other drivers?

I'm sure his agent wrote & published that thank you letter. Were they not aware of the crash? If they were, this is incredibly tone-deaf, and makes it look like he doesn't feel any guilt over killing someone.

Either way, this guy is scum of the Earth.

F$#%&ing Dumbass.

He should be forced to play flag or go bag groceries. Either way he should be told to go kick rocks.

What's wrong with him declaring for the draft?

He will take a plea deal, say he thought it was legal and safe to pass but misjudged, and he will get maybe a year or less.

I’ll be disappointed in our legal system if that happens. He allegedly was speeding, passing in a no passing zone, tried to pass multiple cars at once, and was headed for a possible head-on crash until the other driver swerved to avoid him, leading to a crash and someone’s death. He then left the scene and did not call the police.

If that were you or me, we’d be toast.

Damn shame…to make it to college, D1 is one thing.

To be a draft projection and throw it all away…

Welp…Jalen Carter is in the NFL🥴

Negligent homicide in most states carries a sentence of up to maybe 5 years. Getting even on the upper end of the max sentence usually only happens with prior convictions, showing no remorse, or if other factors were involved.

Felony hit and run is possibly up to ten years in Louisiana if a death occurs as a result of the accident.

The story is that authorities were called on Lacy for discharging a firearm. Attempting to avoid apprehension, Lacy fled in his vehicle leading police on a high-speed chase. His vehicle subsequently crashed and when authorities got to his vehicle, they discovered that instead of being apprehended, Lacy decided to take his own life. Who knows if his guilt from his alleged involvement in the hit and run accident that killed Herman Hall (he was scheduled to appear in court this week), combined with the new charges he would have faced for evading police, drove him to take his life. Regardless, it's another needless loss of life.

Statement from his attorney

You can't live the thug life and be part of regular society. Eventually one of them wins.

His pro day result: Lacy posted a 4.50-second 40-yard dash and a 36-inch vertical jump during the workout in front of NFL scouts - including representatives from the New Orleans Saints.
