Missing the playoffs with 10 wins

If the Rams rest their starters and we stomp them it will really suck to miss the playoffs with 10 wins. Of course 10 wins isn't what it used to be with the extra added game, but there hasn't been a 10 win team to miss the playoffs since the 2020 dolphins.

Not a lot of teams in nfl history have missed the playoffs with 10+ wins and funnily enough none since the added game. Yes we will be the first 10 win team to miss the playoffs since they added a 17th game 3 years ago.

Depressing and demoralizing. I hate that meaningful football is over for another year. I always look forward to the Seahawks playing and am now properly depressed.

Yes they should have beat the giants and none of this would have mattered but Seattle was screwed by refs several times this year. It sucks and I'm just sad our season is over.

The Rams got all the calls while we got none of them throughout the season. If both teams finish with 10 wins and the Rams get in via gimmicky SOS tiebreaker it will be a disgrace.

It is depressing for sure. The NFL season always goes by so quickly, especially when you're not in the dance. And the offseason drags on forever. The NFL is really the only sport I follow. I just have to keep reminding myself that even if we had made it, we weren't gonna go far. So much work to do, mainly on offense. Probably too much to be contenders next season either. But, we'll see. This is nothing like 1986 at least. Now THAT was a depressing 10-win, non-playoff season. I'm still convinced we would have won it all that year had we made the playoffs.

Yeah I kinda agree there’s things like the short preseason and that the records are easier to beat, I also kinda like symmetry of 8 home and 8 away
Records were broken when they went from 14 games to 16 also...and I believe they will eventually go to 18 games, if Goodell gets his way.
They were pushing for it when they added the 17th game.

I read that the future plan is for,

Only two pre-season games.
18 game regular season with two bye weeks.
One of the 18 games, to be either an International game or played in a non NFL city.
The Play-offs to be pushed back a week. The Super Bowl to be in the third week of February.

Should have stayed at 16 games with the two wild cards and two byes. They ruined a perfect system

I agree with the comments about the 17 game BS. Now we're gonna have to put up with more controversies and and asterisks when Barkley "beats" the rushing record next week. Rog is determined to ruin this game.

If Goodell and co get their way, why would they stop at 18 games? They’ll get the players union to agree to 20-24 games + eventually. Goodell and the owners would be just giddy with a 4th of July opening weekend bash and have the playoffs go on forever into March. Why CBS would be rolling with March Madness in the day and NFL playoffs at night.

And with all these billions pouring in, then the cap can go to $800 million + and they can pay such other worldly talents like Trevor Lawrence and Dak guaranteed billion dollar contracts at $175-$200 million a year.

Yes indeed, there’s just no stopping this premier entertainment product and it could never get out of hand says Roger!

Missing the playoffs, in a year where the division has mediocre teams...
well, that's on the Seahawks. They didn't take advantage.

Beat the Rams and the 49ers earlier in the season, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Exactly what I was talking to my friend about. They brought this on themselves by giving away the Giants, Clams and Viqueens games, all at home.
They were a good team that's not quite playoff level. YET.
It's true. But still, missing with 10 wins would suck. Very few teams do

I'm with you, 10 wins should almost always get a team in. Just wasn't in the cards for us, even IF we get to 10. But I'm not gonna' scoff at a 10-win season w/what we were working with in 2024. You're right though, 10 wins and missing the playoffs sucks.

There was a year when the Pats went 11-5 and missed the playoffs.

Our last hope was flushed last night when the Falcons lost in OT, without ever having a possession in the OT. So, but for an exhibition this coming weekend, we are officially in the offseason. Let the festivities begin!

Despite the setbacks we experienced this year I expect we will improve again next year, even if Geno leads the way under center. Or behind the center, as the case may be. I'll be anxiously watching to see what moves our FO makes during the coming months, expecting a bucket full.

No doubt. Coach Mike has no problems moving on from guys who are not producing. So many off season storylines and/or decisions.
DK, Geno, Tyler, Grubb, Dre Jones, Nwusu etc. Cap stuff too, while I don't really follow it too much, it's always cool to have people on here who really break it down for everyone.
