Here we are again with the age old question of do you want the team to get a better draft selection now that they are out of it or do you think that’s hogwash and want them to win the game regardless?

What say you?

Although i never root for the Hawks to lose, if they lost and it was a result of ineptitude on the offensive side of the ball, I'd be ok with it if it resulted in Grubb being gone.

I had the exact same sentiment in 1998 when we lost to the Jets on the helmet TD by Vinny T. Did i want is to win that game to sneak into the playoffs? Yes.

Did i cry when we lost? nope. I was entirely cool with it because i knew it would lead to Dennis Erickson's ouster and that Holmgren would be our top target. Getting him would lead to great things, whereas winning would have likely won one more season. God knows where we'd be now of that would have happened.

We will be better off with a coordinator who knows his job.

Whether we draft 18, our current position, or as high as 16, what we will have to choose from won't really change. We need Guard help. I'm going to hope that JS retracts his previous statement about Guards and does something about it.

I don’t think our draft position between 18 or 16 changes our strategy much. Therefore I want to see a blowout just to enjoy that fun feeling of seeing the Seahawks win one last time until September.

I didn't vote because I don't really care about a "blowout" win. I just want them to win, every game. Losing for draft position is for losers. Bad mojo to throw games in any situation. If they lose after a legitimate effort, I can take that, but the alternative is not something I want to contemplate. I think Coach Mac probably agrees.

I think the Seahawks should be really motivated to win this one. It will be like a "report card" on the season and the players will want to leave a good impression regarding their jobs next year.
They can win...if they have the "mindset" of winning. Play to win Hawks!

For GeNOs, a 'one point loss' adds to why GeNO must be cut.
For Grubb fans, a blowout would be nice.

Nothing we do against the Rams backups in a glorified preseason game should mean anything as far as offseason decisions go. I won't feel any sense of pride if we win, won't care if we lose. There's literally nothing to gain except the aesthetics of a 10 looking better than a 9 on a stat sheet. A win won't put us in the playoffs, a loss wont rob the franchise of momentum or a winning culture or whatever other buzz words fans come up with.

As long as nobody important gets seriously hurt, I'll likely feel the exact same on Monday as I do now.

I don’t care if we win or lose this meaningless game.

I’d really like to see our backups get a chance, so we can get a sense of what the cupboards hold, going into the offseason.

A loss will not mean the Seahawks will pick in the top 5 of the draft. A matter of one or two places higher in the draft really doesn’t matter when you are picking in the middle of the first round. I seriously can’t think of ANY reason not to win. “You play to win the game.” If any of the current Seahawks coaches or players believe otherwise, their asses need to be fired or cut NOW!
There is never a single player drafted, who is a guaranteed success. They might have potential. Success is earned.
I’m not even sure why I voted in this poll. This poll is like saying, do you want nothing for dinner or do you want food? I’ll take food every time. I’ll take a Seahawks win every time.

Do you think McVay should be fired for resting starters this week? Would be odd given his incredible success, but "you play to win the game".

It's almost like there's nuance to this stuff and it's not all black and white.

I stand by my statement.
Well, in eight seasons, McVay has an NFL championship, two Super Bowl appearances, seven seasons with a winning record, four division titles, and six playoff appearances. Maybe there's more to winning than prioritizing every single game exactly the same. He plays to win THE game rather than A game. Andy Reid is also resting starters this weekend, and all he's done is win three of the past five Super Bowls.

In regards to the meaningless numbers to be compiled tomorrow that have no factor on the present or future of this team, I would enjoy seeing Tyler Lockett find his way into the end zone at least once, given that this is very likely his last game as a Seahawk. He has come out and said he's planning on playing next year, but I can't see that happening here. Would be cool if he could turn the clock a bit against the Rams.

If the Seahawks were in the Rams position I could see resting some starters. However they would do it and whoever they would choose to sit, I’d still want them to win.

Jimmy G throws for 3 tuddies and half of this board contemplates trading the farm for him.

I agree with that, but even if you have players resting, you're not really trying to lose.

I’d rather have the one point loss right now with the way they played against back ups
