From a site labeled "Rumors" and it's what we all want to hear. Proof of the pudding will be in the eating. Meanwhile, we're stuck with speculating and discussing possibilities.

Big question is what are we willing to spend - not so much in money but in players - to improve. I'd hate to lose Hanninger for sentimental reasons, but he hasn't been performing that well. Some guys are obviously off limits, like Julio, Cal Raliegh, and JP among others. Dylan Moore seems like a guy you keep around. He's like a 7 position player that can sub anywhere in case of injury or even just rest days.

We're gonna have to probably give up a couple of our good prospects in the minors. Tough choices ahead.

If Ms pay some bucks to bring someone in, the player of greatest value in my opinion would be someone who can be a markedly positive long-term influence on Julio's plate approach.

The Mariners are planning to be aggressive in adding offense this summer, according to a report from Will Sammon, Patrick Mooney and Ken Rosenthal the Athletic.

The report adds that money isn’t expected to be an issue for them in the coming months.

which tracks with comments from manager partner John Stanton earlier this month, when he said that the front office would have resources to bolster the club.

This is a team that thinks adding guys like AJ Pollack, Kolten Wong, and Victor Robles is "bolstering the club" with solid bats.

They'll probably trade away Munoz for a couple more Canzone/Moore type players.

Every season we see teams like Cleveland, Baltimore, Tampa Bay, KC Royals, and Texas, who were lower in standings than the M's the season(s) prior leapfrog the Mariners as WS contenders because of their offseason moves. Yet the M's continue to trudge at a pace of 54% wins and either fall short of playoffs or losing in the divisional round to these contenders. The Rangers won the World Series last year and were consistently looking up to the M's prior to that. Astros controlled the division until last season. It should have been the M's to win it by now. But no.

This season so far is looking to be no different than the previous ones. Except for the fact that the AL West is a terrible division compared to the others in the league. So the M's due to their pitching strength should win the division easily but again fall short in the playoffs due to the weaknesses in other areas on the team.

I see the Haniger deal is getting scrutinized. Wonder if they cut him and eat the salary or try trade him for something

I'll believe this when I see it. Not one minute before. Hell, even Sweet Lou couldn't get a bat added when we were in the catbird seat for a World Series appearance!
Al ******* Martin. I will take that bitterness to my grave

It's the mariners. They will do what they did with Kelenic and package Haniger with a young guy on a team friendly deal to get out of his player option.
