Mayer was one of the best players in college football the year he came out. He’s had an up-and-down first two years as this last year, he was out for seven games for a personal issue. He seems to be a standup guy, so I’m not sure what went there, but I would love the Hawks to inquire with the Raiders if he is available. His skill set is top notch and he’s only 23 years old. Make it happen!

I was surprised when Oak..err….Los A…err…Oak..err…Las Vegas took Bowers because they had Mayer.

Clearly Bowers was a great pick, but they must have noticed something with Mayer that solidified the reasoning of taking a TE in the first round two years in a row.

Whatever is going on, whether it be depression, anxiety, severe insomnia, substance abuse, I hope he figures it out. I really enjoyed watching him at ND and hope he finds somewhere that can take advantage of his ability. I doubt it will be with the Raiders much longer.

It could just be as simple as take BPA and then figure it out. But Mayer is an intriguing prospect for sure

For a 6th or 7th then I'm all in. I'm hoping that Fant and Brown aren't back and we just roll with a young crew. I loved what I saw from Barner this year seems like he could be solid for a long time.

Indeed, Barner & Mayer, I am on this boat of "hope". Mayer's problems sounded like personal or mental. If it's the former, things could improve with time, if it's the mental ....

Easier to find buyers for DK. Conversely, Geno is an acquired taste, and Pete Carroll is one of those connoisseurs. Trade Geno to the Raiders and trade DK to the highest bidders.
Not sure you would get much more than a first round pick and a young former first round pick but unproven player in Mayer

I've heard rumors of a Mayer for Charbonnet trade. Not sure if straight up or extra compensation added somewhere. That would be a win for both teams.

Raiders need a RB and we know Pete loves bigger more physical backs. We can then draft one late. There are a lot of good RB's in this class. I like Charbonnet but he can be replaced. Mayer would be a nice addition. The only negative is this is a very nice TE class too, Mayer is two years closer to being paid than a rookie would be.

I think getting Mayer is a pretty good idea. We signed a former Raider TE that worked out great for us. I could see it working out for Mayer too. We need a TE at this point
