He’s probably not coming out until 2027. That would be weird to do it now

The Hawks should have started last year building up 1st round picks for when he is drafted. 3 first round picks to move up to first overall.

Quick question...if there is a " A 2nd round pick is worth a 1st next year" scheme.

Why not every year trade our 2nd rounder for next year's 1st rounder. And maybe even a 3rd this year for a 1st in 3 years.

It would be a tough couple of years up front but we would have 3 first round picks every year

It’s very premature to even guess on Arch Manning who has only played in a few games. We shall see in 3 more years

LOL this team is way to good to lose enough games to get #1 pick. Tanking isn't a thing in Football. too many jobs require winning and playing well.
Also, in two years Arch couldn't beat out Quinn Ewers.

Yep a good defense nets at least 8 wins... put SAm Darnold in there retain Metcalf and you have another 10 to 11 win team.... No qb picks here unless we spend and trade up.... some of these fans are delusional on how football works

I wouldn't be surprised if the Seahawks are entering tank mode for AM.

I don't know how serious people are when they bring up getting into position for Arch, but entertaining it to the point where it's a factor in team building decisions would be beyond idiotic.

First off, while Arch is draft eligible next year, he's probably not going to declare. From the sounds of it, Peyton and Eli are strongly advising him not to, and to follow their example and use up their entire college eligibility. Now, Arch could decide to forge his own path and declare next year anyway, but he'd be ignoring the advice of the two legendary NFL QBs he has known his entire life (and his grandfather, who was arguably also a legend) who between them, have four NFL championships, in addition to multiple league and Super Bowl MVPs, and one (which could very well become two in the near future) bust in Canton. The fact that they hit retirement still in good physical health and have transmuted their wildly successful NFL careers into wildly successful post-NFL careers doesn't exactly hurt their credibility. Also, now with legal payment of college athletes, Arch is going to have generational wealth before even signing his first NFL contract. There probably will not be much urgency to get to the NFL.

Then, whatever draft he is in, we almost definitely need to be the worst team in the league the year prior. If we're the NFL's worst team in two years, everyone currently involved in the front office and coaching staff is likely gone. I doubt they'll want to chance that. If we don't have the #1 pick that year, we'll need to get very lucky and hope the team that does doesn't need a QB. Most of the teams bad enough to be drafting #1 don't have one. And even if they do have a good QB, they might just trade that one if they see Arch as an upgrade.

We could attempt to trade up to the first pick, but there WILL be other suitors. If we weren't one of the 5-10 worst teams the year prior, that cost would be staggering. The Panthers traded three first rounders and DJ Moore just to move there from the 9th pick, and that was for a much lesser-regarded prospect in Bryce Young. Then look at what it took the Niners to move from 12 to 3 for Trey Lance. Our margin of error for everything else would become zero if we surrendered what it would likely cost.

It's just too unlikely to entertain seriously. And too stupid from a team and business perspective. If we end up with Arch, we probably fell ass-backwards into him.

What has Arch shown to make anyone think he should be the first qb picked?

Right now I’d rather land Lagway in 2 years, or the wildcard of Donte Moore. Who has all the arm talent in the world, but got thrown into an impossible situation at ucla as a Fr.

We don't need the #1 pick and AM necessarily, but we do need a top ten pick. I just read that nine of this year's top teams have qb's who were picked in the top ten. After that, the hit rate falls off a cliff. It's a thing.

So far? Almost nothing, but by then he'll have two years of starting experience with one of college football's most prominent teams. That combined with his high-end measurables, an NFL arm, and his bloodline, it's not surprising that he's being projected as an elite prospect.

He could fizzle out at Texas and that would change things, but I doubt many teams would put money on it. As far as gambles go, there haven't been many that feel safer in recent memory. (Yeah, yeah I know how this board feels about that word, but it's not a pejorative)
