With twitter becoming the goto source for breaking NFL news. The ability to embed tweets would look nicer then people copying them and posting them on the forums.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Hey <a href="https://twitter.com/RSherman_25">@RSherman_25</a>, does this Madden NFL 15 cover suffice? &#10;&#10;<a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23MockCover&amp;src=hash">#MockCover</a>&#10;<a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23LegionofBoom&amp;src=hash">#LegionofBoom</a> <a href="http://t.co/Yb9WrbFgHU">pic.twitter.com/Yb9WrbFgHU</a></p>&mdash; NFL on ESPN (@ESPNNFL) <a href="https://twitter.com/ESPNNFL/statuses/476476444189528064">June 10, 2014</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

This is the standard embed option from twitter. Dont kow exactly if this would be needed, or an addition to the api that allows just posting the twitter link.

PHPBB supports the
Code:
[tweet][/tweet]
tag, but the forum has been modified quite a bit and it may not be easy to implement. *Shrugs and looks questioningly at Anguish*

In reality, phpBB supports bbCode, which enables it to support any sort of custom HTML rewrite assuming it fits a particular set of rewrite rules. That gives it the ability to support a tag such as
Code:
[tweet][/tweet]

So it's certainly possible, just have to spend the time working on the rewrite and embed...

This works, pretty simple actually, pass the word:
Code:
[tweet]https://twitter.com/RSherman_25/status/486559240392540160[/tweet]

[tweet]https://twitter.com/RSherman_25/status/486559240392540160[/tweet]

To be honest, Cartire had already PMed me about it a while back, so i had initially looked at what it was going to require. This little reminder came at the right time, when I had 10 minutes of spare time.

Anyone else have issues on tapatalk where embedded tweets do not appear? I just get a blank post whenever someone posts a tweet.

The version of Tapatalk that I'm running just shows nothing rather than the embedded tweet, which isn't surprising since it would have to have access to the twitter api.

It is a requested feature within the Tapatalk developer forums, but has not been implemented yet as far as I can see.

We are always a few versions behind on Tapatalk because I don't trust their coding skills since they have completely screwed up a few times in the past.

Twitter posts also show as blank posts on WIN XP machines using Firefox 52. You can say 'old system' but other platforms still work with both old and new code. I don't know if phpBB supports it, but XenForo does. This is a FYI post and not a complaint. I normally have a Twitter block add-on enabled so I still wouldn't see them. I disabled all the blockers just as a test.
