I've been kind of reticent to throw my support behind this young man, but there's just something about him. He has that attitude that says "Nothing is going to get in my way!" that most successful DL have had.

His numbers are good, and I have a feeling that they won't accurately predict how successful he will be at the next level.

He's a good player. One good thing about guys who have proven production AND are younger than most is they often have a higher ceiling to reach for and attain. He just might be that kind of guy. There are mixed reports as to where or how long he might be available in the draft. Some have him climbing into first round, while others have him as low as third round. Hard to predict about young guys who were 1st team All American but I'd bet on the higher end for that position in this draft. There is high demand with limited supply. If you have room to gamble he looks like a good bet.

I still haven't made up my mind about Lynch.

He definitely isn't a speed rusher. Doesn't really pop off the screen athletically. I'm sure that's not true. Sort of in a way where some fast guys don't look fast, they just make everyone else look slow. Lynch doesn't seem to be all that great but it just appears that offensive linemen can't ever seem to block him.

He has an understated quality that I can't put my finger on. His greatest trait is making the guys across from him look less than competent. He doesn't win matchups spectacularly. But he just has a way of worming his way through a lineman's face that has a Marshawn Lynch (no relation) quality. One second, the lineman looks like he's got him stopped cold, but then Lynch just keeps sliding by like he's a greased pig.

I can't tell if what he does can translate to the NFL with better competition. Maybe he just is country strong with a natural/intuitive understanding of angles and leverage that just makes blocking him extremely difficult.
