  • Neiko is an exceptional ST player but he has spent a great deal of time injured over the last three seasons and I suspect will be done here after this year unless he does a vet min type deal.

Don't understand why the team went away from the run other than they got behind early again against the Rams and then were pressing which of course doesn't help RW much with play action as the opponent just ignores the run threat and keys on RW.

The running game has been missing for a few games now and it's absence is putting too much pressure on RW to constantly have to pull rabbits out of his hat, and when he can't puts pressure on the D and the D is playing poorly. Hardly a recipe for success.

Seahawks add Snacks and Bo Scarbrough off PS for tonight's game. Place Dunbar on IR and sign Jayson Stanley to the 53 to add another cornerback. So, Dunbar out at least 2 more games after tonight.

  • By rule both Scarborough and Harrison revert to the PS and for Harrison to comeback up he'd need to be formally made part of the 53 man roster.

It's likely that Scarborough will be IR'd next week from the PS which sucks as he played well and very physically.

I suspect we might see some other formal moves before playing the Eagles. Anticipated will be TE- Olsen to IR, possibly Bo Scarborough as well, then DT- Harrison formally to the 53.

The team will as well see the returns of Pocic, Griffin, and Carson which will help a great deal.

  • The Seahawks made a series of roster moves on Monday, including signing DT Damon "Snacks" Harrison to the active roster and moving TE Greg Olsen (foot) to injured reserve.

Harrison was signed to the Seahawks' practice squad in October before playing his first game in Week 10 against the Rams. He played again last Thursday against the Cardinals, picking up his first tackle as a Seahawk. After two games up from the practice squad, it looks like Snacks is here to stay.

Olsen left Thursday's win with what Pete Carroll described as a "fascia tear" injury. In 10 games this season, Olsen leads all Seahawks tight ends in catches (23) and receiving yards (224). The earliest he would be eligible to return is in three weeks, but Olsen's recovery and injury severity will determine whether or not that is possible.

In addition, the Seahawks moved two members of their practice squad to injured reserve, running back Bo Scarbrough and tight end Stephen Sullivan. Scarbrough made his Seahawks debut against the Cardinals on Thursday, rushing for 31 yards before exiting with a hamstring injury. Sullivan, a 2020 seventh-round pick from LSU, has played one game this season in Week 8 against the 49ers.

The Seahawks also signed C Brad Lundblade to the practice squad on Monday. Lundblade went undrafted out of Oklahoma State in 2018 and has spent time with the Seahawks, Bengals, Panthers and Jets. The Seahawks also re-signed CB DeMarkus Acy to the practice squad this past Saturday.

  • Apparently both the Packers and the Ravens tried to sign Harrison from the PS but he wanted to stay here and was signed to the 53. That move was anticipated as Olsen’s injury and transfer to IR opened a roster spot. There are still two open slots on the PS.

We now get to have more “Snacks”.

  • The league has announced that the suspension of Josh Gordon is over effective Dec 21 which makes him available for the final two games of the regular season and thereafter. He can be a difference maker if healthy and in shape. He will be motivated to prove he deserves to be in the NFL and hopefully will be able to stay clean of the league’s substances rules.

  • REALLY excited by the prospects of Gordon's return. If what I've heard about his efforts to rehabilitate over the past year are accurate he will make it this time. That would be a good thing for both of us. If not...he'll need a major Plan B that doesn't include nfl football.

  • I'm excited as well by the prospect of the many players turning from IR/etc. as the regular season comes to an end.

The team will hopefully have strength at positions where they were weak going into the playoffs last season.

    12/05
Elevated T Chad Wheeler from practice squad to active roster. Placed CB Tre Flowers on injured reserve. Played DT Bryan Mone on reserve/COVID-19 list.

Bryan Mone ws on IR, and apparently Cedric Oguighbei has an injury. Tre Flowers, while unpopular here, wss playing well the last 4 games. He will be missed. Hopefully back before the end of the season.

I had wondered about that as after he was elevated the cap dropped sharrply, and he would have had to be brought up to be kept from PS predation. Will revise.

  • The Seahawks already are keeping practice-squadder Danny Etling away from Russell Wilson and Geno Smith. Perhaps they’re realizing that, to do it right, they still need three quarterbacks for practices and a fourth who is squirreled away.

Coach Pete Carroll recently explained in a visit to SiriusXM NFL Radio that the team has tried to make COVID-19 compliance into a competition.

“We have a COVID competition, you know, spacing competition,” Carroll said. “We keep score. The whole thing. And I think that the tight ends and specialists are in first place right now. And so we’re going to play it out throughout the season and see who wins. . . . There’s a lot to it, mostly it’s attitude though and really the commitment that comes from that.”

He’s right, but it still makes sense to ensure that there will be a quarterback ready to go in case a momentary lapse knocks out several of them. These tryouts suggest that the Seahawks plan to do just that.

Seahawks transaction page says he was signed to the active roster. That's part of the reason they put Flowers on IR. I don't think you can do a 1 game callup and have less than 53 on the regular roster.

  • At this point at .com they are showing Wheeler on the PS, but the roster there is frequently a few days behind.

I believe they can move two players up and down from the PS every game w/o concern about whether there are 53 men on the active roster. Any player can only go up and down twice before they must be elevated to the 53.

II'll wait a day and see whether the team comments on the transactions page or corrects their roster page.

A very 2020 move by the #Seahawks: They signed QB Alex McGough to the practice squad with the intention of putting their other PS QB — Danny Etling — in a bubble… just in case COVID-19 strikes as it did for the #Broncos.

Looks as if the team has issues with depth at OT, one of the other OTs appears to be likely to be put on IR next week.

The problem with OTs may be a large part of the failure of the OLine to protect Wilson, wasn’t much enthused by what we saw of Wheeler last week.

OK, it's mostly Gordon I'm really excited about... :) although I don't expect him to have a prominent role right outa the gate. But he did leave a mark on the Rams last year. Time for a renewal of that budding tradition!

i remain concerned with the OLine and expect them to add Boone to the PS for the playoff run. we could see the returns of Olsen, Gordon and Dunbar and potentially Flowers the following week. The team could have the strongest roster all season going into the playoffs.

  • Josh Gordon Added To Seahawks Roster, Penny Hart Waived
Josh Gordon, who is eligible to return from his suspension this week, was added to the 53-man roster.

Josh Gordon is eligible to return from suspension this week, and the Seahawks are hoping he is able to contribute right away.

Gordon, who was suspended last December for violating the league's policies on performance enhancing drugs and substances of abuse, was added to the 53-man roster from the Exempt/Commissioner Permission list on Monday, and will be able to practice when the team hits the field on Wednesday.

"We've got to get him on the practice field and see what he looks like," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. "He's been working out really hard—I've been able to watch his workouts on video a couple times here to see that he's in really good shape. He's really big and strong too, so we're excited to see how he does. We're planning the week like he has a chance to contribute, so we'll see. We'll hold out a good hope and thought and see where it fits."
