Any player who has been put on IR can return after 3 games. There is no limit on how many /season either.

  • Catching up and now updated. These moves were made before the Atlanta game to ensure the OLine numbers were secure.

OG - Phil Haynes has been put on IR, and PS squad OT - Chad Wheeeler has been signed to the 53 man active roster.

  • Haynes went on IR when Nick Bellore was re-signed. Chad Wheeler was a 1 game callup from the PS from the new rules. He went back to the PS on Momday so the roster sits at 53 until it doesn't.

  • Thanks John !

You are as usual right. I got that wrong as Wheeler was a new rules PS call up who has been re-assigned back to the PS after his 1 game call up. This rules change is going to be a tad confusing until the team clarifies whether the player is being activated to the 53 from the PS temporally

    Re-updated.

  • Thanks Kitsap!!!

Interesting, thought they’d add a DT via the PS loophole and have a temporary 54 man roster.

    Updated.

  • I have for the moment returned DT- Anthony Rush to the PS just following the team roster.

    Seahawks.com transactions :
09/21 DT Anthony Rush reverted from active roster to practice squad.

However, with the two season ending injuries to Irvin and Blair he could be promoted to the 53 again or other changes made. The team will likely need to make a roster acquisition or two with the two guys officially going on IR. Pass rush depth is very skinny.

JS will have to be busy this week.

Given the official team announcements of season ending ACL injuries to Blair and Irvin I am moving them to IR.

Updated on Dorsett. There are 3 roster spots open on the active roster.

Suspected the team would protect several of the players they have on the PS, especially those they drafted.

    We are up to date.

1 open roster spot remains, and a decision needs to be made about OC/G-Fuller who's suspension is up.

  • Bob Condotta reports that according to NFL transactions OG/C- Kyle Fuller has been taken off the Commissioner's exempt list (SUS) and is on the 53 man roster filling up the one empty roster spot.

Doesn't appear at present there will be a new DLine addition w/o some other roster moves.

  • I was disappointed to read about Walker hitting waiver wire. Thought he looked to be a guy with promise. Reason for demotion? Maybe his injury situation worse than we thought? Or maybe our depth at rush believed in better shape than we thought?
Anyway that move came as a surprise to me.

  • This begs the question --- who will fill those two open roster spots? It wouldn't make much sense to send Griffin back to the PS then BACK to the active roster, as it would use up one of his moves. Are they going to sign a FA, or two?

I was really hoping to hear that they had worked out Eric Reid...and maybe Clay Matthews.

I don't have a lot of faith in Lano Hill having a significant amount of game time on Sundays...but maybe he's progressed a lot since last year. He's made a couple of nice plays this season. I just think that a playmaker like Reid is sitting there, there's gotta be something else to it.

What's Ha-Ha up to these days?

  • 'Quem officially back on the 53.

They could promote 2 other PS guys for Sunday if need-be.

  • I don't know if he has actually visited yet. Last I heard he was isolating so he could visit, then he needs to pass two tests before he actually can visit. After that we might hear something. I've read that GB is interested in him as well.

  • Bob Condotta is reporting the team has waived DT- Demarcus Christmas from the PS. This will leave two open spots on the PS.

This might also be a signal that the team has visited with Harrison and a signing is pending.

  • So far no WIKI available for DeMarkus Acy who is yet another long DB prospect who perhaps doesn't have speed but is an interesting developmental project 6' 2" 31.75 inch arms at 195. Here is an article from a 49ers fan page giving some info on him.

  • The next questions are who gets moved from the 53 to accommodate raising Harrison from the PS?

Him being signed to the PS is advantageous as he can be brought up for this week w/o requiring a roster cut on the 53.

I expect him to be active on Sunday if he is in adequate shape to play.

Something else that may have escaped some here is that once this team gets a few key guys back from the IR list and Adams and Dunbar return to health the D may start to show some significant improvement against the pass.

So far 2-0 on the road and both were early east coast games :2thumbs:

  • Pete's injury update says Adams out, but Dunbar possible for the game this week. Anything that increases our number of starter quality will help. Not sure what to make of Harrison for this week. Pete seemed inclined to wait at least a week to get him involved. The other signees I would think will have a hard time getting PT unless our injury situation worsens.

  • Appy:

Somehow I expect we will see him this Sunday. It's a perfect opportunity to have a look at him against Dalvin Cook and Minnie's running game w/o having to make a player move with the 53. The ability to activate players off the PS for a game is a cool loophole that the team can use to see what his condition is all about.
