Didn’t Schneider turn 4 or 5 picks in a draft into 9 or so?

I’m sure he’s going to do the same thing again

Not with a late 2nd round pick. I'd imagine the 2nd round pick be like 20-32 range.

That list has MAYBE five players on it that could be considered big losses. The rest are fringe players that are on one year deals or only came here because of injuries last season and likely fringe players this season because of that. We haven't even been able to see how our recent draft class looks do to Covid this year. Under regular circumstances we would have a better idea about now. I don't think its anything to stress about yet though.

Ethan Pocic
Philiip Dorsett
Quinton Dunbar ( Big question mark)
Jacob Hollister
Bruce Irvin

The first 4, are gonna be looking at 7-9 mill each + per year

And Dunbar ( Depends on what happen this season) is gonna look at maybe 14-18mill+

This is fine. Most of these players are cheap roster-fill types. The draft capital thing hurts them in terms of finding stars at the top of the draft, but if they need to fill the back end of the roster, they can easily trade down and have themselves quite a few mid round picks.

This doesn't really look like a "disaster" to me. Seems like typical roster turnover.

What disaster?

The team had 32 players that needed to be renewed this offseason if you include each the ERFAs, RFAs, and UFAs. The roster was filled as can be seen from the roster page, some were renewed others were not.

Nobody was worried then, well a few were, yet JS has filled the roster so there could be a competitive team fielded.

The work of a GM is never finished if the team is to stay competitive.

Poona will be am RFA or ERFA.

So he isnt going anywhere. He is probably the guy that most concerned me on that list, so that is good.

Poona, Shaq Griffin, maybe Carson (depending on how much he wants) and maybe Dunbar (depending on if he gets out of trouble and plays well this year) are the only ones I'd hope to bring back. The rest are aging vets/stops gaps/filler that can be replaced. I'll be sad to see KJ go if he's not resigned, but I think his time is coming to an end quickly.

Also, the 2021 draft could be trash if there's no college season. If that happens, probably a ton of juniors will go back for their senior year. And the guys who do declare will be coming off sitting out a year and there will be less available scouting material than there would normally be, so it will be even more a crapshoot than a typical year. So I'm not worried about not having many picks in this upcoming draft.

As long as Pete is here, we'll at least be competing for a playoff spot. Even at the beginning of his tenure when we were ACTUALLY rebuilding we made the playoffs 1 of those 2 years. If a couple of the guys from our recent draft classes can take a step forward, we'll be doing more than just making the playoffs.

No doubt about it. With the recent history of their 1st round picks, I'll take a proven top tier in the entire league player over a draft pick that MAY work down the road.
