In post game presser Pete just said the Quill is playing "like we want him to" and "is doing an outstanding job" this year.

Said something about being more aggressive.

Sounds like he's being coached to focus on attacking the ball and getting turnovers rather than focusing on coverage.

Could this be why the secondary coverage has been substandard so far this year?

Maybe they've decided to have the secondary players to change to a more aggressive style, understanding they're coverage will initially suffer but maybe improve as the get used to slightly different technique/strategy?

Interceptions are way up this year. Maybe the defense will end up getting much better as the year goes on and the secondary gets in the groove.

Soft prevent coverage is usually a sign that a team doesn't trust its cornerbacks. So I think this is just Shaq getting his head out of his ass and playing better. Good to see him looking like his 2019 self, Mr. Third-Down PBU.
