Stephen Sullivan cross-training on defense

Keep in mind that Sullivan is on the practice squad. PS members primary role is to mimic the schemes/style of the opposing team. Its primary focus isn't a development program. I grant that COVID has allowed for certain new roster management rules but that relates more to a Vet like Harrison rather than a later round TE.

A quick glance at the Vikings depth chart has two starting D-Lineman that are about 6'5" (Stephens and Holmes). This tells me that Sullivan is on D to give Wilson practice this week throwing over very tall D Linemen.

Yeah, good analysis. I won't look for Sullivan to push Quem out of the LB rotation anytime soon. I'm sure Sullivan has his hands full working on the NFL TE/WR gig. But you know he is giving 110% at the DE impersonation. I bet the the convo went something like this: "Coach, don't play with me... You want me to play DE? Really? OK! Let's get to work, coach!! Let's get to work!! Let's get to work!!"
