The NFL’s open secret that there will be a 17th regular season game now has a tad more clarity. Starting in 2021, the extra game will be an AFC vs. NFC matchup, with division winners matched against division winners, 2nd vs. 2nd, etc. The NFC West gets the AFC North (per Albert Breer) so the Seahawks would face the Pittsburgh Steelers, but whether it’s home or away is to be determined. Seattle played Pittsburgh in 2019 and won at Heinz Field.

Home

Arizona Cardinals
San Francisco 49ers
Los Angeles Rams
Tennessee Titans
Jacksonville Jaguars
Chicago Bears
Detroit Lions
New Orleans Saints

Away

Arizona Cardinals
San Francisco 49ers
Los Angeles Rams
Houston Texans
Indianapolis Colts
Green Bay Packers
Minnesota Vikings

NFC East winner

TBD

Pittsburgh Steelers

Only the NFC East winner remains to be seen and it could be any one of the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, or Washington Football Team.

That schedule is looking incredibly tough on paper...however things may change in the offseason to start of next season. But having Steelers, Colts, Titans, Packers, current division teams x2, and Saints. Lots of 2020 playoff teams on that schedule.

I like to think that other teams seeing Seattle on their schedule are equally as fearful as we sometimes are of top teams. That's a good thing.

The Jags will have Trevor Lawrence plus 80mil in cap space, if they get it right they could be tough. That schedule will be a challenge but most of those teams either have an aging QB or new QB so if the Hawks D takes another step forward It could turn positive.

How many times will the drama queen that is Rapistburger threaten to retire between now and when we’d play them next year.

No doubt. And how many times have we heard that a schedule is very tough, only to have them win 10 or 11 games on that schedule? Just about every year.

Opponents on that schedule mean jack squat right now, with rosters being turned over, a lower cap, drafts and Free Agency a team can remake itself and or be something worse very quickly. New coaches and staff impacting teams as well.

Wait till Next July and then September to see what we are facing.

Remember we were the bottom feeders according to many this season in the NFC West.

In fact look at our churn of Roster this year compared to what we started with as well.

No Bucs. We play the NFC North, not the South. And we don't face the Bucs as a strength of schedule game.

Thanks for catching that. It's now corrected.

How any games is that? Seems like more than 16. I guess it's 17 now?

Yes NFL is a 17 game season starting next year. Personally I hate the change.
