Just thinking about some of our most famous plays and the most famous plays in NFL history. We have at least three named classic plays; The Tip, Beast Quake, The Fail Mary. Most NFL fans would know exactly what we are talking about if we were to refer to one of these by name. In NFL lore there is The Immaculate Reception, The Holy Roller, The Tuck Rule, The Music City Miracle. The Helmet Catch. I'm sure there are others. I like Safety First. Anyone know some?

Since the above post wasn't a "great play" I'll add "wide right".

Why is it the "Fail Mary" when it was successful?

I would think it is from the perspective of the Green Bay Packers position. :stirthepot: :rumble:

I think that one's called the "ShinyBallSeahawksCheatedChangeTheRulesForTheCowboys" play.

Alternately, it can be known as the "RomoChokesAgainAsUsual" play.

Not a play, but the 67' NFC Championship is "The Ice Bowl"
