One only needs to look at the threads permeating this board to know that it’s the offseason. However, this year it’s a bit different without the combine to divert our attention away from frivolous trades, management bashing and general we suck threads. At least in the past, the combine served a purpose to begin to showcase on a level field the potential draft picks available. This year we don’t have the annual NFL meat market with the Run Rich Run side show. We just have to wait a few weeks longer until we have some actual NFL focus activities. Until then, here are the dates to look forward to, to get through all of the .net idiocy.
2/23-3/9
transition and franchise tags
3/15-3/17
Legal negotiating window ahead of free agency
3/17
Free agency begins
4/5
New coaches can begin offseason workouts
4/19
All coaches can begin offseason workouts
4/29-5/1
NFL draft
So hang on boys and girls. We have a week before we can start (or continue?) gnashing our teeth about who or if to tag and why. We still have about a month before we are all disappointed, excited, confused about the free agency direction of this team. Be patient, have fun and don’t go too far down the offseason rabbit hole.
