I highly doubt a trade is happening this offseason. It's not outside of the realm of possibilities, but it is unlikely to happen for many different reasons. There are too many moving pieces that need to be brought together.

Wilson's cap hit is a huge issue. I think any discussion about moving him has to include a restructure of sorts. Wilson would really have to want out for this to work. The cap hit is too high for just trading him as is.

The second problem is Russell controls where he goes. You can't just call up random teams like the Jets or Jags and expect Wilson to be okay with that. Whether they want to trade him or not, Russ controls his own destiny. This means your chances of getting a Lawrence or Wilson, or other top QB in the draft class goes down significantly. Without Wilson that means we're potentially stuck with Geno Smith as the starter depending on when the theoretical trade happens. I think that Carroll is smart enough to know that this would destroy his legacy.

The QB draft for 2022 isn’t good! There’s no way a deal gets done unless both Schneider & RW want it to happen! We already know RW is open to the possibilities coincidently RW opens his mouth when buyers have enough Capital in a strong QB draft! No such thing as Coincidences! Today we learn buyers are willing to spend big.

The only thing we don’t know are Schneider’s opinions on the QB’s in the draft. I really do believe RW is eyeballing Miami, NY, & kinda not liking the idea of moving to Jacksonville. If Schneider & Carroll like the top 3 QB’s in the draft RW will be sun bathing in Miami this summer. 3 round 1 picks & 2 round 2 picks for RW or 4 Round 1 picks for RW!

Seattle is absolutely the worst team to buy player from because they have consistently paid the most for players from other teams! This is a fact!

I definitely over reacted after RW comments and after analyzing the situation I believe Russ, Pete, & John are open to a trade under the right circumstances.
I want to trade RW under the right circumstances because I believe his best is behind him and I like the QB’s in this draft. If I’m wrong about RW or the QB’s in this draft then I would want RW to stay.

RW stated it was up to Pete & John if he gets traded, RW deflected when everybody knows he has a “no trade clause”. RW decides if he gets traded!! He has equal power in that circumstance and said when he signed that contract that the “no trade clause” sealed the deal! RW gave the world a ridiculous answer to a very important question!

Actually you don't know what stated this, for all you know he and PC had it out and this is the results. Also, no place did Wilson say he wants to be traded. Si he did not start anything, but asking for more say in things like any good Franchise QB should. As others have pointed out, even the thought of 3 first round picks for Russ doesn’t excite me in the least. WHERE in the first round would we be getting these picks exactly? The teens? The 20s? Usually after the first few guys, there is a big drop off. That, coupled with our track record of first round selections, equals a big fat no thanks.

What blows my mind is that people think that Wilson, a player that is literally responsible for over half our wins, is worth essentially Jamal Adams and a 1st round draft pick.

Obviously you are going to want to determine what the relative value of the picks are. It's also heavily dependent on which team you trade with. For example, Seattle gave up roughly 1300 points of draft capital to land Jamal Adams. The Dolphins 3rd overall pick is worth 2200 points. So three first round picks from the Dolphins would come out to roughly 3600 points, or close to 3 Jamal Adams caliber players. Keeping in mind, that's the price required for Seattle to listen.

Wilson is not going to a team that is rebuilding, he is going where there is one or two missing pieces including him and the ownership is all in plus an OC he likes as well as a Offense with a line that can highlight his best kind of game.

He is not going to the Jags, Texans, Bengals, Jets, Falcons and Dolphins are the next tier of failures that I doubt he signs with as well. You pretty much have blown any chance of a QB worth picking unless there is another under the radar guy.

Add that this whole draft class is under scouted and played against competition of inferior quality due to Covid and to fill out a schedule.

If anything, you look for guys that played good on inferior teams against that top talent.

Yeah, those deals would get it done.

Any deal would have to include a legitimate replacement at QB.

As noted, this is all highly unlikely. Although it's worth noting that Wilson is genuinely extremely guarded in public interviews. When he lets things slip, I take those to be entirely intentional.

Likewise, Schneider is equally evasive/guarded. He knows full well how to shut down a line of questioning and has proven that when he doesn't, there is merit to following up.

I definitely think it's two parties firing halfhearted shots across each other bows. But given the history and what we know of each others' ability to navigate the press -- I would definitely say there is something simmering under the surface that is worth monitoring. It's highly unlikely a move gets made. But I think the biggest takeaway is that each party is flexing their influence in a passive-aggressive way. It doesn't mean there is dissatisfaction or anything.

I agree but I wouldn’t be surprised if the true competition is between Watson & Wilson = which QB is worth more! I wouldn’t acquire Watson you don’t want the face of the franchise tossing the franchise under the bus, it doesn’t matter what Houston did, Houston paid Watson, Watson took the $$, Watson is destroying the Franchise!

I like the creativity. I do have one question; what the heck is Seattle going to do with all of these tackles? For example, you have them taking two elite LT prospects in the Miami deal while LT is arguably our strongest position on offense. Do you foresee them trading Brown as well? Or do you see Sewell as a right tackle?

Can anyone sell me on Tua as a prospect? I watched some videos of him, and he looked like a less athletic version of Russ without the arm strength. Seriously, to my untrained eye, his upside looks like a slightly more athletic version of 40-year-old Drew Brees.

Not sold on Tua either but what quarterback are you sold on until they prove it. Which is why your getting a haul for Russ.

I would trade Brown and shed that cap hit to sign another gaurd or center. Having two elite tackle on either side of your young quarterback with cap space to build the defense would be the only thing that makes sense to me. You could also swap Jackson for Geiski in that deal, since they seem to be coveting TE's now.

It also got his OC whom he liked fired. Then he called out his OL -- even though he is in the top 5-10 QBs for holding the ball every year -- like they are the problem.

I'm good with 3 first round picks and pumping 30M+ back into the roster. We can win another superbowl with an Alex Smith type QB that takes what he's given. I don't think we can win with a prima donna QB that wants to force things and blame others in order to boost the legacy of his stats. I want a legacy of W's.

With today's news I see that as a blow to the "nothing to see here" camp.
I think there's something going on. That doesn't mean that Wilson will leave. There are huge challenges to trading him, even if you wanted to. But there's only so many puffs of smoke that you can ignore.

It isn't likely that Russ is not coachable.

More likely he just isn't going to listen to terrible coaching. Big difference.

Remember, he started his career at Wisconsin because some moron thought he shouldn't be starting vs some other guy that turned into a stiff in the NFL.

He has learned that coaches are not immutable sages. And in fact, they can be full of terrible outdated ideas that hold a team back (which is likely happening now).

He is pushing back against a bad coach. A coach he has been propping up for years that never seems to learn, adjust, or in any way adapt to the realities of this new NFL.
