They have Cable there and have now gutted their OLine. Good luck to them.

The Hawks should be all over this player.

Something doesn't add up here - there doesn't seem to be any cap-related incentive for the Raiders to cut him this year, he's got guaranteed salary and they wouldn't open up cap space by releasing him.

Does he have injury concerns?
Age starting to impact his play?
Banned substance issues?
Legal issues?
Conflict with coaches/front office?
Something else?

I haven't watched any tape on him from last season but found this in PFF:

BIGGEST SURPRISE: RODNEY HUDSON, LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
Grade: 73.6

For years, Hudson has been the best pass-protecting center in the NFL. To put it into perspective, Hudson allowed a pressure rate of 1.0% from 2015 to 2019, while the next-lowest pressure rate allowed at the position (Brandon Linder, 1.8%) was nearly twice as high. That's the lead-in to what made his 2020 season surprising. Hudson actually graded higher as a run-blocker this season (72.7) than as a pass-blocker (70.0). It wasn't a bad season for Hudson by any means, simply a departure from what we've seen from him for the past decade.

Sort of curious if this in some way ties in to a RW trade. Maybe Seattle wanted Hudson but didn't want to have to pay the guaranteed salary for 2021. Raiders cut him as part of a "wink wink" deal and Seattle picks him up for a smaller cap hit plus no comp pick penalty.

Interesting thought.

Welp, that explains it.

In that case, full speed ahead... go get him.

What RW trade? There is no Russell Wilson trade. Besides, a trade would involve compensation. UFAs require no compensation to their former teams.

I imagine since they got rid of the rest of the oline he wanted to go too. Would be a solid pickup.

Best thing is he’d not count onthe comp pick front, besides being a good C.

Little doubt there are more cap releases in the offering.

Some teams are going to benefit thru patience.

Several here are not getting that reality yet.

There are going to be more cuts to come as teams significantly over the cap are forced to part ways with players they’d otherwise try to keep.

That said Hudson would be a nice add for the Hawks.

Tom Cable coasted while having a veteran laden O-Line. It didn't sit well with him, he wants to make his mark. R.I.P. David Carr.

Cable has DESTROYED a Raiders line that was one of the best in the NFL before he got there. Yet, this is one of Wilson's preferred destinations? B.S. Seattle should at least kick the tires here and see what can be done.

Hudson isn't coming off a major career threatening injury and never played D-line or basketball in college. NO THANK YOU.
