Writing was on the wall after the Everett signing, who projects to replace Hollister's role in the offense.

Does that give us another $3M to work with? Or just another open roster spot?

Just a spot. Hollister wasn't on the books anymore. Technically not even a spot since he wasn't under contract, but now its certain that he's not returning.

Why did we let him go? What'r the holes in his game? Couldn't block well? Couldn't get open?

He doesnt have holes. Underutilized here . Many will say he wasnt that great based on the tackle near endzone to end 2019, but he can be considered clutch when it comes down to it.

One of those blue collar, lunch bucket kind of guys every team needs. Never a big flash and dash guy, but got it done when called on. Everett seems like a good swap for him, though, and since Waldron knows him all the better.

I'm hoping Dissly finally has a breakout year, and injury free.

So Everett cost us $6 Mil when we could have kept Hollister for far less. Is Everett worth the difference?

Congrats to Jacob Hollister, and he saved our bacon numerous times in his tenure here. Holes in his game? Too small to be a legit blocking TE. Terrific in the passing game, IMO. IIRC, he is also a former QB. Smart player, good on special teams. He'll be a bargain for Buffalo.

Gerald Everett? Well, he'll help Waldron implement his system here. Beyond that, no idea, aside from at least he won't be torching our D.

I mean you pretty much described Everett in your assessment of Hollister but Everett might be a more explosive, more athletic version of that.

I think Everett is more Jimmy Graham if that makes sense. A bit more receiver than blocker.
