2020 he joined the Jaguars but he opted out due to Covid.
Woods signed a 1-year/$3M contract with a $750k signing bonus.

Another depth signing for the DT rotation. :2thumbs:

Looks like they're really trying to solidify the D-line this year across the board. Hopefully his PED problem won't crop up again.

He's was an elite run stuffer. This feels like insurance for Mone, but we'll see what he can bring to the table.

Played decent here, but his best days are behind him. More of a run stopper.

I kinda like it. I really think Poona should stay at 3tech and let Mone and Woods play the 1tech on non obvious pass downs.

Makes sense to me :2thumbs: the defensive line is beginning to look like a tag team rotation.

............................. Happy Birthday Al Woods on turning 34 yesterday.

Better at his job than Reed, even at 34 has a better anchor. A solid vet that can really help Mone and Poona reach their potential. A real coach on the field. I like this...albeit, a little too pricey. Even though, he's a pro and stuffs the run. If he can take up blockers along with Poona, Dunlap can get after the QB. I'm down for this.

Definitely feels like they want to get back to the rotational/sub system that was so effective during our SB glory years.

Without crunching the numbers then for the cap hit that would have been Dunlop and Reed, they now have Dunlop, Hyder, and Woods?

So Poona stole Reed’s job but they had to sign Poona first so it didn’t cost them $14 million.

I think kj will be back for slb. Not sure where mayowa fits after. Dont think he would be any good in coverage.

He was a superb space eater for the Hawks two years ago.

He played well for us in 2019 as a run stuffer. I remember several stops near our goal line that he made himself. If he can bring that back this year it's a great move. He is certainly rested since he took last year off!

Welcome back Al! :irishdrinkers:

He was off last year, which may be good if he stayed in decent shape, a year off his body has healed and he is probably reinvigorated also.
