5 days away guys! Let's see who you like. Since we only have a 2nd, 4th, and 7th -- and you know we'll trade down -- throw in a UDFA for good measure.

I'll start with a couple takes:
2 - Jabril Cox, LB LSU
4 - Deonte Brown, G ALA (Lewis moves to C)
7 - Jaelon Darden, WR/KR N.TX
UDFA -Jonathan Marshall DT AR

Sets our LB, OL, and gets a KR that may be a playmaker out of the slot.

Take 2:
2 - D'Wayne Eskridge, WR W.Mich
4 - Ifeatu Melifonwu, CB Syracuse
7 - Amen Ogbongbemiga, LB OKST
UDFA - Trey Hill, C GA

Melifonwu is a prototype Seahawk CB. If you don't believe he'll last to the 4th, I'm fine with taking him in the 2nd and grabbing a Tylan Wallace in the 4th.

Those would be some exciting prospects if it shook out that way. I hate any pick that involves moving an offensive lineman to a different position. Thanks, Tom.

My picks:

2. Chazz Surratt, DE/OLB, North Carolina
4. Alaric Jackson, OT, Iowa
7. Robert Jones, G, Middle Tennessee

I have a feeling they are going to trade out of the second round to load up on 5th round picks.

2nd: DT, CB or DE
I'd look for a CB like Melifonwu or St. Juste, or perhaps if a DT like Milton Williams or Tommy Togiai were there. DE would be smart if there were a big drop... but quality developmental DE's and OT's will hopefully be available later.

4th: WR, DE, OT
I'd love it if a WR like Simi Fehoko were there, allowing Lockett to move to the slot. OT like D'Ante Smith or Dan Moore.

7th: DE, WR, OT
DE Patrick Jones, perhaps Jonathan Cooper drops to the 7th. OT such as Tommy Doyle. Maybe Robert Jones or Dan Moore drops to the 7th.

I fully expect the 56th selection will turn into an extra pick, or two...perhaps also the 129th.

We should come out of this with 5 draft picks if Schneider's history holds true.

If Levi at DT, or a Center like Landon Dickerson or Creed Humphrey fell to our pick in round 2, it would be tough to pass them up.

I say Seattle ends up with 5 picks ttl on draft day. We've never even heard of the 4 of them. Final choice

Dickson scares me, with his injury history, and I think we have seen to many first and second day picks, end up on IR.
Meinerz or S.Forsythe , M.Williams looks amazing and Melifonwu is a good Hawks fit

Dylan Moses and St.Juste and Caden Sterns...Divine Deablo ( hybrid LB/SS)

Josh Ball and Fehoke in 5th or 6th, if we trade down.

I always look forward to the draft. It’s one f the highlights of the year for me. I’ve been following the draft and been a bit of a draftnik since the late 70’s. I’m just as excited this year as past years but it’s definitely different. With only 3 picks and their first choice not coming until (probably/possibly) the late 2nd round it’s very difficult to zero in on potential players. This year it’s more of a positional perspective. I’m ok with that. It adds a little intrigue that hasn’t been there before. I highly doubt they come out of this draft with only 3 picks. How they attempt to acquire more will be just as intriguing as who they pick.

With Covid, this draft adds a lot of unknowns in regards to late round picks and unddrafted free agents. One of the things I’m most looking forward to is that we will finally have fresh topics and players to talk about and the hashed and rehashed topic of the last two months can be put away!

This is who I want us to draft if Melifonwu falls to us in the 2nd. Without the injury history, he's a 1st round lock, his measurables, tenacity and ball skills are that good.

No injury issues since 2019, so I'm OK with that risk to get our CB for the next 4-5 years.

OC/OG Drew Dalman - zone blocking specialist
CB DJ Daniel - huge wingspan and attitude
DE Cam Sample - high ceiling raw prospect who needs a year to bulk up
WR Shi Smith - small, quick slot receiver with return skills and good hands
WR Seth Williams - red zone specialist with ability to make contested catches
OT Tommy Doyle - high upside zone blocking OT who needs development
TE Quintin Morris - move TE who gets open
OT D'Ante Smith - long armed guard/tackle prospect with upside in a zone scheme
RB Kylin Hill - pass catching RB with great vision and patience for zone scheme
CB Benjamin St. Juste - ideal size and physical play

So I think we all know that JS will probably trade down and out of the 2nd round to get another pick or two. That's his MO and has been for pretty much his entire time with us. But personally, I don't think that is the right move in this draft. There is a lot of uncertainty with many players since scouts haven't been able to do their normal scouting process. In addition doctors have been limited in the information they can gain from player physicals. Last, no combine and limited contact by the FO for all teams means many guys are probably not vetted very well.

What does this mean to me? I think from rounds 4-7 there will be a lot of guesses made by teams. I also think there will be a sharp increase in quality UDFA's that will be available to priority sign after the draft on Saturday.

So I'm going a different direction for this draft. If any of the following O-Line players make it past pick 40 in the second round I would package our 7th and possibly even 4th to trade up and grab the best available OC or OT on our list. I get this will not be a popular move with many fans or possibly even the FO. But my thought is I would rather take the chance on a much higher quality O-Lineman that could start by no later than the second half of this season (OC, OT) or at the worst the first of the 2022 season.

I personally don't want to see Pocic bull-rushed back into RW again this year by any DT as happened too many times last season. He just doesn't have the weight and girth to stand up to guys like Donald this season. He is also our weakest link on the line this season.

I also see an immediate need to get another quality OT to develop behind Brown as his age will catch up to him this season, or next. It's just father time and he is very much at the last click of the clock right now. We just don't have the draft capital to do both right now. So If we are going to make picks, I would rather take the chance on one very good to great potential starter O-Lineman than more hugely developmental guys this season.

If they went my way I would trade up for either Creed Humphrey or Landon Dickerson for our new starting OC. Both of them are immediate upgrades over Pocic and he can backup our new center and help with guard duty, if needed.

If both are gone I would trade up for OT prospects Sam Cosmi, Dillon Radunz, Liam Eichenbert or maybe Jalen Mayfield. IF not, then Wyatt Davis or Trey Smith for OG and move Lewis to OC full time. That is if any are still there after pick 40. I know this is a risk, but to me this whole draft is a risk with covid issues messing with a normal draft evaluation process.

Well, that would be my plan. I would then scout any and all UDFA players that don't get picked and offer a larger than normal signing bonus to tilt them in our direction. We have done well with these players in the past, and I think there could be 3-4 who would fight their way into sticking on our roster this season. I suspect a lot of these guys know we are not afraid to keep them on our 53 roster if they perform well in camp and preseason.

Well that's it. Take your shots if you must. It's not like any of us have a say or any of our comments truly matter to PC or JS.

I will still be watching the whole draft as at least it's football related. Not much else going on I really care about.

We must surely be the number 1 destination for udfa this year. We normally do well just because of the always compete mantra and not prioritising draft picks over who performs best. Now add the small amount of picks to that.

NFL Draft, when the experts come out of the woodwork (just kidding, relax)

They turned 4 in to 11 last year, so I honestly think 3 becomes 6 or 7 this draft.
