But Jville, just because Pete said it doesn't mean it's all true, either. He himself "infers" a lot, or leaves ambiguous a lot of statements inviting that kind of tea reading... right?

Pretty much everything about a Pete conference is deciphering the tea leaves, Belichick, unless it's about an injury or an opponent on the schedule you get more then you want sometimes.

I don't read tea leaves.

It's like speaking in (or interpreting) tongues, it seems; I don't have the "gift" either. I tend to like taking people at face value. But coach-speak is a real thing, and Pete is good at it.
