Some of our young LBers all I can say is WOW ! Donker is a project, he will take time to learn the Seahawks ways, Rhattigan and Evans both show alot of promise with their athletic abilitys. I can see why Bobby Wagner said, no need for KJ return. BBK and C. Barton mirrors are full of some smart and talented young players.

Barton and BBK are fine for depth. You're not going to want them starting. Barton can still make some strides, but he's not plug and play.

Brooks and Wagner are the off-ball guys. That SAM role is more like LEO than anything else these days. It's an on-ball job.

The days leading up to the regular season matter. And so too do all the competitors. Starters are needed to be sure. But so are utility backups. Specialists that fit into situation packages. And competitors that can also provide special abilities on special teams.

Pete Carroll is on record as having regrets about not providing more game snaps for a number of players. Training camp and pre-season is the time to look at how non starters can fit together. I enjoy camp and preseason. It's a special time of the year.

99% of the regular season snaps was more than was necessary for Bobby Wagner in 2020. With seventeen games on the horizon, that number is going to come down. This year is going to be different Ben Burr-Kirven is a legitimate possibility for third and long packages. Cody Barton is an excellent utility asset and potential starter. Cody stands out on special teams in a way that suggest he may eventually supersede Nick Bellore as special teams captain. And then there are three first year newcomers not named Brooks that we have yet to see in a Seahawks uniform.

I think we are in for some very interesting days as the coaching staff looks for the best fit and combination.

Seattle has lost two of its three LBers from 2020, (Bruce Irvan and KJ.) Brooks and Taylor look to be the ones to step up and fill thoughs positions. BBK and Nate Evans are more suited to playing the mike LB spot. We'll see a hellva battle play out for starting spots as well for back up positions.

I'm so excited to see what Nate Evans can do with his opportunity here in Seattle. By the numbers BBK is the better mike LBer but I'll have my eyes on 55 and 58 thats for sure.

Cheers

Irvin was back for what, a game and a half? We had a whole regular season's worth of games with someone else playing hat slot. That statement doesn't really make much sense in context.
