Hasselbeck continues to have interesting opinions about the team. Some interesting tidbits below for those who can't listen:

- Small sample size but Russ is making errors, both accuracy and decision making. All the reports are that he looks great in practice, but it isn't translating to the game so it's a head scratcher.

- Part of the head scratcher is that there are also great plays. On the 3rd and 1 bomb to Lockett there was an easy route that was wide open if he wanted it, but instead he pumped it for no reason and then took the shot to Lockett for a great play. Comparison to a three point shooter where you don't want to take away what makes them great, but the trick is to find a way within the offense to also get some layups early.

- Waldron could maybe make it easier on Russ. Lots of gimme plays early to get Russ into a rhythm. Completion plays early and the shots will come naturally later in the game.

- Swain was wide open on the two point conversion but our RB was helping pass protect in Russ's viewing lane, which likely contributed to the throw being late.

- Players still try really hard once they are eliminated from the playoffs because the team is looking to the next year and could be looking to replace you.\

- Hasselbeck feels that if they got a 'do over' on a bunch of these games they could win it, and you don't just trash everything and say it's a complete youth movement because you had a bad season.

- Dismisses discussion about trading Russ. National narrative doesn't know the 3-8 Seahawks and isn't studying their film; they're just reading stats and getting highlights. The solution on offense should be getting Russell Wilson to play like Russell Wilson.

- The biggest question for this team is can this team stick together in the current storm. If they can stick together, not point fingers and be honest than this is the right group. If they are going to get it fixed they have to tell the truth and not talk about moral victories.

- It would be easy to point fingers towards offensive TOP but it's a two way street, defense needs to get off the field.

- The "Shanahan/McVay scheme" was new when it came on the scene and tough to defend, but now a bunch of people (jets 49ers bengals seahawks rams) are running that scheme and so people are a little bit better at handling it but it's the same offense. Some are running the offense well and others are struggling, so it comes down to execution and little details. Sees a lack of precision in the passing game and thinks there may be a corresponding lack of precision in the running game.

- One way to fix things could be to cut 40 plays in the gameplay down to 20. Plan on doing less but be really great at a few things.

- The style of offense doesn't matter but a great run game never goes out of style. It's not that you have to run the ball, but you have to be committed in a way that the defense has to honor that you could run the ball. The Hawks used to be a great shot team (bootlegs, play action, run fakes) all based on the premise that they would actually run the ball.

- Rams are a good example. They started 7-1 with a downfield passing attack, but teams have adjusted to them not running the ball and now they may have been exposed to who they are really are up front.
