Passing game coordinator Andre Curtis has also been fired.

Some good news.

Clint Hurtt, Seattle’s assistant head coach/defensive line coach, is expected to be a candidate for a promotion as the new defensive coordinator. Veteran NFL assistant Ed Donatell is also on the shortlist of candidates to replace Norton, sources told The Times.

Surprised they went through with it, honestly. Be interesting to see what candidates they interview for DC.

Could be significant change. Never really know.

Really, from year to year, there was significant overall change to the defense under KNJ. From coverage schemes to personnel packages.

Dan Quinn was our defensive line coach and he was elevated to DC after Gus left. Under Dan Quinn, our defense looked quite a bit different than under Gus. Hiring within isn't always a bad thing per say.

To be fair, he did leave for Miami for 2011 and 2012, so he wasn't on staff when hired for DC. Just familiar. Had 1 year under Mora and then stayed for a year under Pete before returning.

Holy Hell it's about damn time. Thank God.

It felt like Waldron was finally getting thru to Russ on 3rd down conversions over hero-ball. That plus the O-Line and Penny's emergence.

I'm happy and sad at the same time about KNJ. Too many slow starts for the D and too few adjustments. I wish him well. Maybe another LB coaching gig. DC was somehow just a little more than he could master this time around.
