Pittsburgh Steelers-Tennessee Titans game postponed until Monday or Tuesday

The Titans and Minnesota Vikings suspended in-person team activities because of several positive COVID-19 tests out of Tennessee in the aftermath of Sunday's game. Initially, three players and five Titans staff members tested positive. Another round of testing Tuesday revealed one additional Titans player tested positive.

The decision to push the game a day or two could give the Titans a chance to ferret out any additional players who might have caught the virus with additional tests. It also might allow Tennessee a chance to get back to its facility before playing a game. The Titans and Vikings facilities remain closed with teams operating on a virtual basis.

I think this is a pretty decent response to a fluid situation.

Also sounds like an outright cancellation is possible. With a pitt Baltimore wek 8 game being the key piece to make it work

They should have had another bye week before the end of the regular season and the playoffs and push the Super Bowl back a week l, or just push the playoffs back a week and cancel the week buffer between the playoffs and the Super Bowl.

Unless this is the outlier they will have to adjust the schedule somehow. With enough occurrences you could see weeks inserted during and after the scheduled season.

With the lack of spectators and general understanding that it’s a unique year, fans shouldn’t react poorly to changes like they would in the past. All that really matters is they have enough games on the weekly docket to fill out the TV schedule.

I bet they're going to make that game nfln only with local network broadcast only available in each team's individual market.

The Titans were the first tough test the Stealers faced this year, so it doesn’t surprise me the the NFL tried to delay their first loss.

I doubt there will be a Pro Bowl week. That's probably going to go the way of preseason because the stakes are so high.

Game postponed indefinitely after two more positives on titans team (5 players, six staff).

The Titans had eight positive COVID-19 tests that were reported on Monday, three from players and five on the staff. Another player tested positive on Wednesday. The league said there were two more positive tests on Thursday, one from a player and one from a personnel member.

Here is the league’s announcement:

“The Pittsburgh-Tennessee game scheduled for Week 4 will be rescheduled to later this season after one additional Titans player and one personnel member tested positive for COVID-19 today. An announcement of the new game date will be made shortly.

“The decision to postpone the game was made to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel. The Titans facility will remain closed and the team will continue to have no in-person activities until further notice.”

Sounds like week 7 is the most likely make up date. Good.
On a positive note (no pun intended) the Vikes have zero positive tests, so our game w/them on the 11th shouldn't be impacted.

The COVID-19 outbreak on the Tennessee Titans is not going away.

Two more Titans players received positive tests today, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The two players have not been identified, but they’ll join cornerback Kristian Fulton, linebacker Kamalei Correa, defensive lineman DaQuan Jones, long snapper Beau Brinkley and practice squad tight end Tommy Hudson among seven Titans players who tested positive. Six staff members have also tested positive.
