The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers will no longer play on Thanksgiving this year.

Baltimore announced Wednesday that its Thursday matchup against the Steelers has been postponed until Sunday due to the team's coronavirus outbreak.

Week's schedule is here: https://506sports.com/

As it stands, according to the source, someone in almost every job capacity in Ravens football operation has tested positive, including strength coaches and trainers. Most people, per the source, didn’t feel safe going into the building after the Sunday positives or the Monday positives, and no one feels safe going in now.

Players, per the source, generally don’t want to return to the building until next Wednesday at the earliest. That would allow for a five-day incubation period from Tuesday the 24th and two consecutive days of negative tests.

The final decision will be made by the league. As the source put it, the league truly cares about safety, but the league also cares about the bottom line. By allowing the Ravens to gather on Monday (despite a wave of positives from Sunday) and Tuesday (despite a wave of positives from Monday), the league made a decision to try to keep on the Thanksgiving schedule one of the biggest games of the year. Ultimately, that decision made things worse.

And this....

The league's supposed to give the go-ahead or the yank today for the Sunday game.

They are talking forfeiture now also Ravens.

Of all teams to get a gimme it may be the Steelers, If there was a God it should have been the Jets. They are the ones that need Celestial intervention.

If the league goes with a forfeit than under the CBA players on both sides forfeit their game checks.

If Ravens-Steelers doesn't go Sunday then they're talking about moving it to Tuesday. But then they'd have to move Steelers-Cowboys out of Thursday to the weekend.

Or they can shift Ravens-Steelers to Week 18.

All of which is unfair to the Steelers esp as they got the runaround with the Titans. Regardless of what anyone thinks about them, it's just an unfair situation for the Steelers.

Yeah the pay is part of the issue, but it was not due to an on the field incident which is why they may have to deliberate it and pay the players.

I wonder if the Ravens will be fined for this. Seems like they’ve been a source of Covid problems each week.

Steve Saunders (the conditioning guy) was in the weight room without a mask while symptomatic. JFC, anyone who's working at that level needed to have a mask on even when they already had it. The Ravens have treated the virus as a joke and now Harbaugh is almost actively lobbying for the game to be postponed to Week 18 as that portends better for a healthy Lamar plus at least six other positive players. And, if Steelers retain their current no. 1 seed in afc, week 18 would be their bye, which they wouldn't get with a makeup game.

The Raiders didn't get a postponement. Either did the 49ers. They were told to get their PS guys out there and play, and they did.

The problem with Baltimore is that there are so many positives over so many position groups and so much mingling they don't even know if their ps or current negatives are safe. So dumb of the league to let Baltimore do walkthrough practices on Monday and Tuesday in anticipation of the Thanksgiving game.

Officially moved to Tuesday. So no Thursday night game this week, and an MNF doubleheader in a couple of weeks. They said the Ravens "disciplined" their strength and conditioning coach who caused. I would think for someone in that position this blatant disregard for protocols is a fire able offence.

The COVID-19 outbreak in Baltimore has led the NFL to postpone the Baltimore Ravens-Pittsburgh Steelers game for a second time.

The Ravens will now play at the undefeated Steelers on Tuesday night at 8 ET, the NFL announced.

Baltimore was scheduled to play host to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night, but that game has also been moved, to Monday, Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. ET.

Eight Ravens players have been added to the reserve/COVID-19 list this week, and quarterback Lamar Jackson was revealed to have tested positive Thursday night. The Baltimore Sun has confirmed through multiple sources that strength and conditioning coach Steve Saunders has been disciplined for not routinely wearing his mask and proximity tracker, which the NFL requires as part of its contact-tracing efforts, and for ignoring potential COVID-19 symptoms as he worked with players.

Disciplined? What exactly does that entail?

More than 250,000 people in this country have died from this pandemic, so there should be zero tolerance. Either follow the protocol or find a new job.

Not a Steelers fan, at all, but I hope they absolutely curb stomp the Ravens when they play. In fact I hope for that from here on end. The Ravens are totally culpable because of that SC coach Steve Saunders who failed to wear a mask when he was symptomatic and not one person said, or was able to say, hey bro, won't be working under you or over you today as long as you're doing that.

Why is that guy still employed given what he's done?
