6 openings. Along with Atlanta, Detroit, and Houston, Jacksonville, the L.A. Chargers, and the New York Jets have all dismissed their coaches. I'm betting Eric Bieniemy (KC O coordinator) and Robert Saleh will be the first hires. It would surprise me in particular if the Chargers don't make a serious run at Bieniemy. Thoughts?

Many will want to Hire a GM first, as a Possible Coach I would not go anywhere that I didn't know who the GM was and what authority he would have. Jaguars is a mess waiting to happen with Kahn stating he wants to be a hands on owner.

I think Brian Daboll Bills OC has probably jumped to the front of the list. Seems like a great fit for Lawrence or Herbert.

Bieniemy feels like a bust to me, Andy Reid is the genius behind that whole deal and once you don't have Mahomes and Co. i'm not sure he works.

My favorite hire would be Matt Campbell from ISU, not sure if he'd be interested in making the jump to the NFL though.

Salah, Elfrus, Arthur Smith, Pat Fitzgerald, and many more good asst/college guys.

The Jets have hired Robert Saleh as their new head coach, the team announced Thursday night. Saleh’s deal is for five years, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Saleh, 41, will become the 20th head coach in franchise history. He replaces Adam Gase, whom the team fired Jan. 3 after two seasons.

He was considered the favorite for the job after the Jets flew him to town for a second interview Tuesday. Saleh initially had a virtual interview Jan. 8.

Saleh has served as the 49ers’ defensive coordinator since 2017.

DeMeco Ryans likely new DC in SF. That's what I expected. Either he or Raheem Morris.

Arthur Smith, previously OC of Titans, will be the Falcons HC.

Dan Campbell, TE/Asst. HC of New Orleans, rumored to be the favorite for Detroit. Lions gonna Lion.

I like the Arthur Smith hire. However, I don't get why Dan Cambell always seems to be a hot name, he did nothing to prove himself capable of being a HC when he took over for Miami a few years back.

Is anything let for Bieniemy? He already said no to the Texans. That's the only team remaining right???

Bieniemy would have been a good coach for Watson, a shame that the Texans & Bieniemy have no interest in each other.

I don't think he would take the Chargers' job seeing how they're a division rival, so that only leaves the Eagles.

Same. Smith checks all the boxes - unlocked Henry, oversaw a career revival for Tannehill who is better than anyone thought he could be, and calls his own plays.

Campbell, though? Seems like a loser hire. Didn't shine in the interim role, isn't even a coordinator. Not sure why'd he would be on top of any HC list.

Wow, Brandon Staley taking the Chargers job. Admittedly, I know nothing about him, aside from him being the DC for the Rams this year. This feels similar to Cincinnati hiring Zac Taylor after being the Rams QB coach for a year. We all know Taylor has been a massive disappointment there, so I'm looking forward to Staley's tenure for the Chargers.

Wonder what's going on with Bieniemy. Is this the 3rd year he's been the "hottest" name of coaching candidates? With so many people getting up in arms that he keeps getting passed up, it makes one wonder what the hold up is that so many clubs are passing on him. Is it the fact that they look at how crummy Matt Nagy has been in Chicago after being Reid's OC in KC? Is he just not impressing in interviews Honestly? Honestly, I'm genuinely curious if they are putting any stock into his previous concerning legal troubles. Some of the stuff on his rap sheet is disturbing on the surface.

I thought teams couldn't contact people until the team was out of the playoffs.
I believe coaches/coordinators that are still in playoff contention can interview for HC positions, but an official hire can't be made until their team is eliminated, or has won the SB. That's how I understand it.
