Falcons defensive end Barkevious Mingo has posted bond in a child sex offense case. Records in Tarrant County, Texas, show that Barkevious Levon Mingo of West Monroe, Louisiana, posted a $25,000 bond. The offense is listed as indecency with child sexual contact.

There is no further information about the nature of the incident. PFT reached out to the Falcons for comment but did not receive a response.

The 30-year-old Mingo went to the Browns with the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft and has also played for the Patriots, Colts, Seahawks, Texans and Bears.

Does anyone instinctively remember him? I had to really think about it and then refresh memory with Wikipedia.

Not that this has anything to do with the matter other than idle football talk, of course. But in fact it is entirely in the league and in this team's best interest to not have him out there in public.

2018. That was the year Earl Thomas went down after only 4 games at which point the secondary began to unravel. K. J. Wright played in only 5 games. There were other destabilizing problems as well. Barkevious Mingo was used to help fill in a depleted defense as an outside linebacker. It was a patch work effort. Mingo only played one year in Seattle. The Seahawks traded him the very next year to Chicago Bears.

I’m pretty sure the Seahawks trade Mingo to the Texans as part of the Clowney deal.

My mistake. Your correct. He was traded to Texans for the 2019 season and then moved on to Chicago the following 2020 year.

Allegations are that the vic is the friend of an underage family member. Mingo invites them all over to Six Flags and takes them to Nike and go-karting at at night the kid alleges that mingo was in there lubing his ass up with lotion.

SI is saying that when this happened over July 4 of 2019. Mingo was officially signed with the Seahawks.

Falcons released him btw

Ugh. If he touched a child, denut him. But if he was shoving preparation H up his butt and the kid walked in...$25,000 bond doesn't seem like much ball money.

IMHO, our children are the most precious and important humans on this planet. And anyone who intentionally hurts them should never see the light of day...ever.

According to the SI story there's allegations about the lotion going into the boy's crack and Miingo rubbing his you know right there.

A few thoughts:

1. The boy in bed incident happened on July 4th, 2019. At the time the boy was 13, he was friend of another boy who's a relative of Mingo. At the time Mingo was a member of the Hawks but was traded later that summer.
2. The mother of the boy reported the incident in January 2021. So the Hawks couldn't have known the incident in 2019.
3. There were two hotel rooms, the two boys 'supposed' to sleep in one room and Mingo in the other. But the boy claimed that he woke up at 3am to find Mingo in bed with him, and so on. Did the two boys start the night sleeping in the same room? How did the other boy, left the room and swap in Mingo?
4. No report on the 13 yo victim sharing the incident with his friend, the other boy.
5. Incident was reported in January this year but arrest warrant just this month??

Ummmm

I see your skepticism Toffee but regardless there's something that happened to this kid who's now what, 14 or 15 and walking around.

Mingo's being in the kids' room is pretty plausible. Rooms are often designed to be adjacent and your standard one is two queen beds. So each boy would have had their own bed then.
