I wonder whether or how it will affect that team's vaccination rates. Per Florio and ESPN, the Colts are reportedly one of the NFL's least vaccinated teams.

You can be fully vaccinated & still have enough of the virus in your system to test positive but not enough to spread it. They still quarantine because of an over abundance of caution. It also happened to Dominic Ducharme, the head coach of the Montreal Canadians, during the semi-finals of the NHL playoffs last month & he had to be away from the team for 2 weeks.

The test is pretty sensitive.

In this story about the Provincetown 4th of July outbreak, 69 percent of positives had been fully vaccinated. Seventy-one percent were symptomatic. I can imagine many guys got the vax so they wouldn't have to test as frequently, but the imperative for such is increasing. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medica ... ar-AAMy4up

You can get Covid if you have all your shots.

Not just the non-symptoms version either.

The Delta version is really unpleasant and it looks like being vaxxed only gives you 60% chance to avoid vs 98% against the original types of Covid. (At least the Pfizer/Moderna)

The symptoms of the Delta are much worse as well, while it appears to be much more contagious.

So yay.

But all the people I know that got it, originally traced it back to unvaccinated people - since the hospital always does a trace when these come in.

Well, here is one real-time interpretation of how it's going to go.

Mom calls about having a dinner. And nicely I tell her that it's going to be a good idea to have it outdoors for everyone's sake, including that of my parents both living and near 90, and that of my 10-yo niece now relocating and ineligible for vaccine.

She understands. Her senior-class art teacher recently got COVID, fully vaccinated. And today CDC is saying that this art teacher could have been as contagious as any unvaccinated person once they acquired infection, asymptomatic or not.

Marin County. 95 percent partially vaccinated. Not 18 and up. 12 and up. You live in the highest vaccinated county in the US, Mom, and it's not even enough to protect you from your county senior art class.

Springfield, Lake of the Ozarks, Florida, Las Vegas, anywhere else is not going to achieve 95 percent. And the people who have, have decided that this is their future.
