That's Santa Clara's masking order, which seems to say you must do it everywhere indoors, vaccinated or not. So these teams that were relying on 70 and in some cases over 90 (like SF is) will have to do all their indoor stuff masked. Including even the weight room since the only indoor exemption is swimming or showering. This stuff about vaxed only in the hot tub? Depends on what Santa Clara thinks is showering.

LA County also has a mask order. In fact so does Las Vegas. It's coming if not already here to Kansas City.

It's just a mask, right, but way I see it is that masking will inject a lot of that 2020 feeling into a team's equation.

This is potentially relative competitive disadvantage next to a team without such restrictions.

It’s just a mask. Competition advantage is hyperbole.

This. At the most, it's a minor inconvenience.

I don't know — while training, don't athletes sometimes wear masks that make it more difficult for them to draw in breaths, in order to increase their cardiovascular strength? If those masks simultaneously protect them from COVID-19, that seems like it'd be a win-win.

Yep. Especially if these types of masks continue to be acceptable.
