Well there goes some big names... one we apparently wanted going to our division just not us.

The cycle seems like it might continue heh

According to MLB.com the Mariners just agreed to terms with current reigning CY Young award winner Robbie Ray. :2thumbs:

5 years 115 million.

I’m pleasantly surprised. There’s the ACE we were looking for.

He’s trending upwards. He led the AL in ERA last year as well @ 2.84.
His K to walk ratio is 5 to 1. Like all pitchers the biggest concern is staying healthy.

Front 3 of the rotation is set now.

I think we go get one more big starting pitcher and push Gilbert to 4th spot., and a 2nd baseman of sort depending on the plans with Fraizer.

nice to see them making the moves that signals the rebuild is over.

Pleasantly surprised with this signing, looks to be a good value on the contract with flexibility for both sides. Unfortunately with the Rangers 3 huge signings the M’s may barely tread water.

Now sign Bryant and Kershaw and maybe the wild card spot is possible…

The Rangers are going all in a year or 2 to early.

Love the Ray signing and like the Frazier trade. We still need a 5th starter and a power batting infielder.

Agree. They do that with the young stud arms on the horizon that are almost ready, and if they can add a big bat or 2 and they got the makings of a on annual playoff contender.

Agree. Would still like another quality starting arm though, you can never have too many good arms.

Agree. I think they get a mid tier pitcher.

Robbie Ray was a much better fit for this team than Gausman in my opinion, great signing!

I would love for them to get a Bryant or Story in addition, but really they need a proven lefty power bat to even out the lineup a bit and provide some protection for others.

Agree with this. Obviously we need a 3rd basemen but Suzuki would lock down the outfield (Sorry Kyle Lewis just can't stay healthy). Suzuki, Kelenic, and Julio in the outfield (Hanny and Suzuki switch between OF and DH). Sounds good.

Drayer: Mariners announce 3 international signings to farm system

With MLB’s international signing period opening Saturday, young players who have long had the eyes of and agreements with different organizations at long last were able to officially sign with their teams. On Tuesday afternoon, the Mariners finally officially announced the three newest Mariners:

• Michael Arroyo, IF, Colombia
• Martín Gonzalez, IF, Dominican Republic
• Lázaro Montes, OF, Cuba

“It’s great to be adding these three young players to an already exciting Mariners minor league system,” Mariners director of international amateur scouting Frankie Thon Jr. said. “Each of them offers a unique skillset that our Player Development staff should really enjoy working with. We are also thrilled with the quality of the people that we are bringing onboard.”

Some movement. Nice to see they are still working towards the future in the minors and international leagues.
