Still hoping he signs with the Angels even if it hurts the Ms. That's how much I hate the Yankees.

Best option would be an NL team but have not heard of any even being considered.

Cubs screwed their cap up otherwise they would be in.
Lymon will be the only one happy with Cole/NY.

Will never happen but this would be the golden opportunity for the M’s to jump in with a legitimate ludicrous offer to Cole.
Position wise I think they are going to be setting up nicely in the next year or 2.

They need good pitching. It would send a signal to your fanbase if you landed Cole that you are serious for once about winning.

I know it’s a pipe dream but it’s the smart play IMHO.

There is no salary cap in baseball. Just the luxury tax that doesn’t stop the Yankers or RSox.

Gee the Yankees got him. Wow who'd have ever thought that? Knock me over with a feather.
SIGH

Best thing about the NFL as a fan is a salary cap that allows any team to be competitive.

I live near Houston and while Cole was good, in the playoffs he failed. To get that kind of money is insane but ultimately who cares?...Baseball sucks now anyway. Free agency has killed sports and there are decades of proof.

Got to agree and the Yankees have been the first one to use it.
