Good for them. I wish California would do the same.

I think this is good, though I know one of the largest mini-casino (table game only, non tribal) operators wants to be able to have sports betting as well. Oregon just started theirs (tribal and state) up this last summer.

Having states incorporate this into their legal gambling plans is ideal.

For instance, California set up legal gambling (outside the track, that's separate) to promote two things: 1) its own public schools in the 1980s; and 2) Native American registered tribes in the 1990s. They have foundational values arguments over why that is that have stood up for decades, and infrastructure built around both.

My wife and I were just talking about how it would be fun to be sitting in the 300+ million dollar newly revamped Emerald Queen Casino, watching the super bowl on their 100 foot screen, and being able to bet on prop bets etc before and through the game. We're not the type that would make a trip down to Vegas for something like that for varying reasons, but we would definitely make the drive down to Tacoma (or to one of the other tribal casinos) for an experience like that. I just hope they get the law right, and hit the sweet spot of getting the most tax benefit for the state, while not gouging potential gamblers so much that it discourages participation.

Fully agree. In fact, having a big screen plus camaraderie plus prop bets is a win/win.

Really hoping this passes. Playing a gig at the Muck, hitting the buffet, hanging out with friends and family, watching a game, throwing down a sports bet, all of it. Love betting on football, bring it on.
