What?I thought he made it after 7 weeks..
I know he loved the game,I couldn't stand L.A tbh
but that guy was the face of it all for so many years.

I will always remember him coaching third base at Safeco during the 2001 All-Star game, getting knocked over by a foul ball, and the broadcasters playing it about 20 times thereafter. He rolled over and popped right back up.

I guess it was the bat that got him, rather than the ball.

I hated him in the 1970’s and 1980’s as he was severely overexposed (not his fault).
But as a grew older I actually realized how great of an a Ambassador of baseball he was.
The all star game moment at Safeco field was a classic.

Sad he passed.
