Marshawn Lynch, Shawn Kemp, Sue Bird among Seattle stars announcing Kraken expansion draft picks

Scheduled to reveal players selected by the Kraken in the draft (8 p.m. ET, ESPN2) are Seattle Storm guard Sue Bird, Seattle Sounders FC forward Jordan Morris, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner and former running back Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis, and former Seattle SuperSonics stars Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp as well as Hall of Fame coach Lenny Wilkens.

"They're all so into the Kraken. This was the easiest thing to book. The Kraken are the talk of the town right now," said Steve Mayer, the NHL's chief content officer and the executive producer of the draft.

Most of the celebrities will appear at Gas Works Park in Seattle, where a crowd of Kraken fans will gather

. That gathering will include fans on boats decorated in honor of the new NHL team, as the venue is located on the northern shore of Lake Union.

There will also be a barge where much of the broadcast will take place, in view of the fans in the venue and those in their vessels.

My company just set up some feeds for broadcasting from Gas works, hopefully everything goes well, having Lynch supporting them is a big deal, he is very tied to the area it appears, having Gary and Lynch on the same Stage is really funny, two of the most controversial confrontational sports figures in Seattle history and most loved by fans and headaches for GM's and Coaches.

Good stuff. Wish I could just blast down there and watch it.

Whyno predicts Seattle will pickup Spokane Native Tyler Johnson since Tampa Bay Lightning GM and Ron Francis know each other.

So, Stephen Whyno apparently is an expert on NHL Players, and talks with Dave and Bob about how the Kraken could possibly build a team, and whether or not it's unrealistic to do what Vegas did.

"There's room in the Pacific Division to make the Playoffs in year 1."

WYMAN AND BOB

Hour 3 - John Clayton and Stephen Whyno

John Clayton joins Dave and Bob to set the stage for NFL training camps and update the latest free agent signings.

Later, Stephen Whyno, NHL writer for the Associated Press, discusses the intriguing names available in the expansion draft for the Kraken and offers one idea for the best way to quickly build a successful team.
