  • Seattle Kraken expansion draft tracker: Picks, trades, reports and more

    Seattle Kraken expansion draft reports

    • Calgary captain Mark Giordano will be Seattle’s selection from the Flames, according to Salim Nadim Valji of TSN.

    • Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff.com reports that the Kraken have settled on three goaltenders: Chris Driedger from Florida, Vitek Vanecek from Washington, and Joey Daccord from Ottawa.

    • Servavalli has several other reports of Kraken picks, including: Jared McCann, F, Toronto; Carsen Twarynski, F, Philadelphia; Carson Soucy, D, Minnesota; Gavin Bayreuther, D, Columbus; Kole Lind, F, Vancouver; Kurtis MacDermid, D, Los Angeles.

    • Also according to Seravalli, the Kraken decided against taking some well-known players available to them. That list includes: Carey Price, G, Montreal; Vladimir Tarasenko, F, St. Louis; Max Domi, C, Columbus.

    • Servalli tweeted that the Kraken were focused on center Yanni Gourde as their selection from the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning. He also said that defensemen Vince Dunn and Jeremy Lauzon sound like the picks from St. Louis and Boston, respectively, and that the Kraken have “zeroed in” on forward Brandon Tanev from Pittsburgh.

They've updated the above story a few times today and it now shows a list of all but one team's (Detroit, as of this posting) players whom the Kraken will be picking, toward the end of the article, if you don't want to wait until tonight to learn who they are.

New Jersey fans aren't happy they're losing F Nathan Bastian, but I totally get it. Just last month the team re-signs him to a 2-year deal, and now he's moving on to an expansion team. Looks like a pretty decent player who can score.

Overall, from what I've been learning about a lot of these guys, it looks like a pretty sweet haul for the Kraken.

His scouting report is real good.
Just wonder if he is going to play one more year @ Michigan?

  • Well.. the kid has started way of IMO on the wrong foot by sticking said foot in mouth. Matty Beniers said he grew up a Patriots fans and talked about he liked the Seahawks because of that one time "they gave us a Super Bowl!" Idc how much talent the kid has, if he’s gunna be representing the team and city, he needs to be wiser about what he says. Best not to stir the $h!t pot of your future fan base.. lol

Kind of the way I feel. As long as he puts the puck in the net that’s all I care about.
Russell Wilson was a Niner fan growing up, again, who cares.

  • Lol the “who cares as long as he can xyz” statement is so ignorant. Lol This place is truly amazing. You all want to criticize and bash players .. for what they say, do, and how much they want to get paid .. but some new dude who’s good gets a free pass. Y’all crack me up.

Well playing for a team on one sport doesn't make him a fan of that Cities team in other sports.

I can separate the two, how is that hard especially when the team he is on has not even had a practice yet or he has not had a chance to get to know the area.
