Seafair cancels major events for 2020 amid coronavirus outbreak; to resume in 2021
Seafair, Seattle’s popular summer festival that’s been a staple in the Pacific Northwest community for generations, won’t be taking place in 2020 — at least in the traditional sense.
Due to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, Seafair has rescheduled its major events to next year.
“We are deeply disappointed but together we will get through this emergency,” said Eric Corning, president and CEO of Seafair, in a news release. “Events will be an important part of our recovery, and we look forward to working with our sponsorship partners, volunteers, and stakeholders to produce a festival with the BlueAngels, fireworks, pirates, clowns, parades, and all of the neighborhood community events.”
